Student Organization of India (SOI) is the student division of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) party in India. [2] The organization is a part of Panjab University, Chandigarh. [3]
In 2015, SOI Alliance won all four seats in the Panjab University Campus Students Council. [4] SOI made a debut in Delhi University student elections in 2015. [5] [6] SOI contested 18 seats in three colleges under DU and was able to win 10. [7]
SOI candidates won all six seats student union seats at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Pitam Pura, with Mandeep Singh GGS as president, Agamjeet Singh Malhotra as vice-president, Deepakshi Garg as joint secretary, and Tavleen Kaur as general secretary. Pavneet Kaur and Amanpal Singh are central counselors. [8] Manjot Singh was elected as the president and Ishmeet Singh Vicky of SOI was elected vice-president in Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Karol Bagh. Also, at Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College (North Campus), SOI's Naresh Rohilla was elected president, with Rajni Arora and Himanshu Sharma as joint secretaries. The SOI Delhi State President is Mandeep Singh GGS. [9] Also, Harkirat Singh Brar from IETVE is the Senior President at Panjab University.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is an organization in India responsible for the management of Gurdwaras, Sikh places of worship in states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and the union territory of Chandigarh. SGPC also administers Darbar Sahib in Amritsar.

Charanjit Singh Atwal is an Indian politician who was Deputy Speaker of the 14th Lok Sabha of India from 2004 to 2009. He represented the Phillaur constituency of Punjab in the 14th Lok Sabha and is a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) political party.

It also manages various educational institutions, hospitals, old age homes, libraries and other charitable institutions in Delhi. Panjab University Campus Students Council or PUCSC is Students' union consisting of the departmental representatives and other office bearers like President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint-Secretary along with 123 Departmental Representatives (DRs) directly elected by the students from the various teaching departments on the Panjab University, Chandigarh campus. Further, these elected office-bearers and department representatives elect the remaining five members of the executive of the Council. The Dean Student Welfare is ex officio Chairman of the Council. Elections are held every year in August–September months. There is ban on property defacement for clean elections.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is a centre-right sikh-centric state political party in Punjab, India. The party is the second-oldest in India, after Congress, being founded in 1920. Although there are many parties with the description Akali Dal, the party that is recognised as "Shiromani Akali Dal Aka Badal Dal " by the Election Commission of India is the one led by Sukhbir Singh Badal. The party has a moderate Punjabi agenda. On 26 September 2020, they left the NDA over the farm bills.
Sukhbir Singh Badal is an Indian politician and the president of Shiromani Akali Dal, and is currently a member of Parliament from the Firozpur. He served as Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab from 2009 to 2017. He is the son of Parkash Singh Badal, who has served several times as Chief Minister of Punjab. Badal and his family have ownership stakes in an array of businesses.
Jagdev Singh Talwandi was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1978 as a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), a Sikh-centered regional political party. Talwandi was elected SAD president in 1978 and 1988. He became the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2000. He was elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha thrice in 1967, 1969, and 1972, and was inducted as a Minister of State for Development and Animal Husbandry in the Gurnam Singh Ministry and the Minister of State for Jails, Sports and Transport in the Parkash Singh Badal government. He represented Punjab in the Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1986.
Jasbir Singh Gill (Dimpa) is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament to the 17th Lok Sabha from Khadoor Sahib of Punjab,India. He won the Indian general election 2019 as an Indian National Congress candidate. In the year 2002 he was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Beas constituency. In December 2020, he was in an issue with young female reporter questioning him about the farmers' protest live on TV.

Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad is an Indian Sikh politician and former President of All India Sikh Students Federation. As of 2022, he is serving as general secretary and spokesperson of Shiromani Akali Dal.
