Pitampura is a residential area in North West Delhi district of Delhi, India. It is located adjacent to Rohini. It is a planned neighbourhood developed by the Delhi Development Authority in the 1980s and Pitampura TV Tower, was built in 1988. [1] Dilli Haat Pitampura is also situated near the TV tower. [2] Situated in west Delhi, it is an upscale residential, commercial and retail centre. The area is encompassed between Outer and Inner Ring Roads, NH-1 and Rohtak Road. It has two wards, Pitampura and Pitampura North, under the Rohini zone of Municipal Corporation of Delhi. [3]
It is serviced by the Pitampura metro station, Kohat Enclave, and Netaji Subhash Place metro station of Delhi Metro's Red Line.
It is home to many government servants from central administrative services. This locality got its name from the "Pitampura Village" located near Madhuban Chowk, this village's history is around 400–500 years old. It was developed by the Delhi Development Authority in 1980s. [4]
Delhi's second Dilli Haat , a traditional food and crafts bazaar, was developed by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation in Pitampura, close to Pitampura TV Tower and spread over 7.2 hectares, started in 2003, and opened in April 2008. [5] [6] Delhi Development Authority has developed a new HIG Housing Complex near TV Tower, as a part of its Delhi Development Authority Housing Scheme – 2008. [7]
Pitampura also attracts people from all over Delhi for shopping due to many high-class brands present and the presence of Netaji Subhash Place, Pitampura, a place to hang out.

Dilli Haat at Pitampura, north-west Delhi, near the TV Tower, is the second of its kind project of Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation. The success of the Dilli Haat at the INA market encouraged the DITDC to open another, bigger, and better Dilli Haat, at Pitampura.
The Pitampura Haat, like its progenitor at the INA market, will showcase tribal art and craft, culture, cuisine, music, as well as the essence of street culture. The gateway to the Haat will serve as a street plaza. Vendors selling everything from paper toys and balloons to popcorn will get space on the walkway, giving a feel of Delhi's street culture.
There is to be a spice court that will allow shoppers to pick up authentic spices. Right next to it is the art court comprising an exhibition and art gallery space. The craft shops have been organised in two blocks along a central axis. At the rear of the Haat there is an amphitheater and food court, but to reach the food court you will have to walk through the craft stores. It is a clever way of attracting people to buy as these food stalls attract the maximum crowd.
As many as three Delhi Metro Stations - Netaji Subhash Place, Kohat Enclave and Pitampura, cover this locality.
It is very close to Rohini, Model Town, Shalimar Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, Ashok Vihar, Lawrence Road areas. Pitampura has many housing colonies like SD-Tower Apartments (known for the largest Super HIG flats by the Delhi Development Authority and also for its nearness to Netaji Subhash district center and TV Tower), Vaishali, Saraswati Vihar (the largest colony of Pitampura), Lok Vihar, Ajay Apartments, Apna Ghar Society, Bank Vihar, I.D.P.L. Colony, Kohat Enclave, Rohit Kunj, Sandesh Vihar, Jhulelal Apartments, Engineer's Enclave, Harsh Vihar, Kapil Vihar, Vishakha Enclave, Maurya Enclave, Rani Bagh etc. These societies have various facilities like community centers, central parks, and parking lots.

Pitampura TV Tower is a 235-metre (771 ft)-tall television tower, built in 1988, with an observation deck that is located in Pitam Pura, Delhi, India.
Dilli Haat is a paid-entrance open-air market, food plaza, and craft bazaar located in Delhi. The area is run by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), and unlike the traditional weekly market, the village Haat, Dilli Haat is permanent. It is located in the commercial centres of South Delhi, opposite INA market. The 6 acres of land on which this complex is situated was salvaged as part of a reclamation project and transformed into a plaza. Extensive foundation work, small thatched roof cottages and kiosks give the plaza a village atmosphere. Some shops are permanent but other sellers are rotated, usually for fifteen days. Products offered may include rosewood and sandalwood carvings, embellished camel hide footwear, sophisticated fabric and drapery, gems, beads, brassware, metal crafts, and silk & wool fabrics. A number of shows promoting handicrafts and handlooms are held at the exhibition hall in the complex. To sell wares, there is an application process; spaces are allocated according to which state the seller is from. In all, Dilli Haat, INA Market has 62 stalls allotted on a rotational basis to craftsmen for a payment of INR 100 per day for a maximum period of 15 days.
The Outer Ring Road is a 6-lane ring road that encircles the city of Delhi. It has three lanes in each direction, with a total length of 47 km. Although it used to have traffic lights and at-grade intersections, mushrooming interchanges have reduced the number of lights to just two, and traffic now flows much more smoothly. Several stretches of the Outer Ring Road have been notified as National Highways.

It has an authorised share capital of Rs. 10.00 crores and a paid up capital of Rs. 6.28 crores. It is involved in several other activities, some of which do not fall under the core activity of promotion of tourism, such as the selling of liquor. This particular activity, however, provides the corporation with revenue that can be utilised in tourism or other related development activities for the National Capital Region of Delhi.
Keshav Puram is a locality in the northwest district of Delhi, India. It was first developed by the Delhi Development Authority. The area has a lot of parks and the pollution levels are low. The number of people living there is also low.
Sarita Vihar is a residential colony situated in South East Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India.
