Sunny Hills is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Florida, roughly halfway between Chipley and Panama City in the Florida panhandle. It is located along State Road 77, north of Greenhead, and is the site of the Sunny Hills Golf and Country Club. Sunny Hills is owned by the Deltona Corporation, a developer of planned cities. [1] Begun in the late 1960s, Sunny Hills was to be a planned city with an anticipated 60,000 residents. [2] Miles of roads were built but despite early interest the development did not succeed and the majority of the roughly 25,000 acres were left undeveloped. Recent estimates by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce identify just 619 homes spread over 220 miles of streets. [3] Most streets have no houses on them.

Navarre is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Santa Rosa County in the northwest Florida Panhandle. It is a major bedroom community for mostly U.S. military personnel, federal civil servants, local population, retirees and defense contractors. Due to Navarre Beach and the 4 miles (6.4 km) of beach front on the Gulf of Mexico thereof, as well as several miles of beaches within the Navarre Beach Marine Park and the Gulf Islands National Seashore, it has a small, but rapidly growing community of nature enthusiasts and tourists. Navarre has grown from being a small town of around 1,500 in 1970 to a town with a population estimated at 43,540 as of 2020, if including both the Navarre and Navarre Beach Census Designated Places.
State Road 30A (SR 30A) is a Florida Department of Transportation designation shared by four alternate routings of SR 30 in the Florida panhandle. Two segments have SR 30A signage; the other two do not as they are segments of U.S. Route 98 (US 98). Three of the four SR 30A segments are next to the shore of the Gulf of Mexico for most of their length.
