The 2014 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Glasgow 2014,, was an international multi-sport event celebrated in the tradition of the Commonwealth Games as governed by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). It took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

The swimming competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland took place from 24 to 29 July at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

The Tollcross International Swimming Centre is a swimming pool and leisure centre in Glasgow. It hosted the Swimming events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The medals were presented by Antonio Gopal, President of the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association and the quaichs were presented by Mike Summers, Chairman of the Falkland Islands Overseas Games Association.

Antonio Gopal is a Seychellois hurdler. He competed in the men's 110 metres hurdles at the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association is the National Olympic Committee representing Seychelles. It was created in 1979.

Quaich two-handed drinking vessel from Scotland

A quaich, archaically quaigh or quoich, is a special kind of shallow two-handled drinking cup or bowl in Scotland. It derives from the Scottish Gaelic cuach meaning a cup.

George Bovell, who qualified in eighth place, pulled out of the final to concentrate on the 50 m freestyle [4] where he finished fifth in the final. He was replaced by the first reserve, Singapore's Quah Zheng Wen.

George Richard Lytcott Bovell is an Olympic bronze medalist swimmer and former world record holder from Trinidad and Tobago. Bovell is also a two-time World Championship bronze medalist, a record five-time Olympian and is the Caribbean region's most successful swimmer.
