The 1992 Summer Paralympics were the ninth Paralympic Games to be held. They were held in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. In addition, the 1992 Paralympic Games for Persons with mental handicap were held immediately after the regular Paralympics in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
The swimming competitions at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens took place from 14 to 21 August 2004 at the Athens Olympic Aquatic Centre in Marousi. It is governed by the Tunisian Football Federation, founded in 1957. Colloquially known as the Eagles of Carthage, the team's colours are red and white, and the bald eagle is its symbol. Most of Tunisia's home matches are played at the Stade Olympique de Radès in Radès since 2001. Jalel Kadri has been coaching the team since 30 January 2022.

The first Games took place in 1953 in Alexandria, Egypt. Intended to be held every four years since, political turmoil as well as financial difficulties have made the event an unstable one. Women first competed in 1985.
The Algeria women's national football team represents Algeria in international women's football. The team is currently ranked 76th in the world in the FIFA women's rankings. The team's highest ranking was 64th, in June 2009. The team plays its home games at the Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers and is coached by Radia Fertoul since August 2018. Algeria played its first match on May 14, 1998, against France, and lost 14–0.

The 2011 Arab Games also known as the 12th Arab Games took place in Doha, Qatar from 6 to 23 December 2011. This was the first time that the country had hosted the multi-sport event. Khalifa International Stadium was the main venue for the competition.
Swimming at the 2011 Arab Games was held at Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha, Qatar from 17 to 22 December. A total of 38 long course (50m) events were contested. The top medal-winning athletes from the Games both came from Swimming: Tunisia's Oussama Mellouli and Egypt's Farida Osman.

The 2023 Arab Sports Games is the 13th edition of the Arab Games, an international multi-sport event which will take place in Algeria, between 5 and 15 July 2023. It will witness the participation of all the 22 Arab League members in 22 sports. For the first time, five cities will host the games: Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba and Tipaza.
