Algeria participated in the 13th Arab Games , which were held in Algeria in 5 cities (Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba and Tipaza) [1] from 5 to 15 July 2023. It competed with 454 athletes in 22 sports.
Algeria has previously participated in 8 editions (1965, 1985, 1992, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2007, 2011), and is fourth in the overall standings before the start of this edition.
Algeria ranked first in the overall standings table for the second time in its history after the 2004 edition. [2]

The 2016 AFC U-19 Championship was the 39th edition of the AFC U-19 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia. The tournament was hosted by Bahrain, as announced by the AFC on 3 June 2015, and was scheduled to be played between 13–30 October 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.
The 2016 AFC U-19 Championship qualification decided the participating teams of the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship. The tournament is the 39th edition of the AFC U-19 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia.

The men's football tournament at the 2023 Arab Games was held from 2 to 14 July 2023 in Algeria, following an 11-year hiatus. Matches will be played in Annaba and Constantine. For the first time, teams are restricted to under-23 players, and a maximum of three over-aged players.
Syria is participating at the 2023 Arab Games, which is being held in Algeria from 5 to 15 July 2023. Syria returns to the Games after withdrawing from the 2011 edition for political reasons. It competed with 105 athletes in 14 sports. Syria is fifth in the overall standings before the start of this edition.
