T.O.P. is the second Korean studio album by South Korean boy band Shinhwa. It was released on April 15, 1999, by SM Entertainment. The album title T.O.P. stands for Twinkling Of Paradise.
The album garnered much success, climbing the charts quickly (debuting at #4 and peaking at #3). Although they promoted their first album well, Shinhwa did not do many promotions for their second album, and instead began working on their third album. Despite the lack of promotions, the single "T.O.P." was a success, and spent 24 weeks on the charts before it dropped. "T.O.P." represented Shinhwa's first significant commercial success [1] and was noted for its use of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" music. [2] Years after its release, "T.O.P." has been performed on television with its original choreography by groups such as Girls' Generation, [3] Spica, [4] Super Junior, [5] and BTS. [6]
The music video for "T.O.P." shows the six Shinhwa members in white suits with a bright fantasy-like back-drop. The music video for "Yo!" tells the story of vocalist Lee Minwoo, as a trouble-maker boy who falls in love with a girl, played by Kim Bo-mi.
The second single "Yo!" collected seven number one wins on live music programs, a record it held until "This Love" from their eleventh album The Classic , won eight first place wins in 2013. [7] This record was broken again by "Sniper" from their twelfth album WE, won ten first place wins in 2015. [8]

Shinhwa is a South Korean six-member boy band based in Seoul, composed of Eric Mun, Lee Min-woo, Kim Dong-wan, Shin Hye-sung, Jun Jin, and Andy Lee. Launched by SM Entertainment on March 24, 1998, the group signed with Good Entertainment in 2004 before creating their Shinhwa Company to manage their career as a band. The band struggled initially with their first album before finding commercial success with their sophomore album T.O.P.. When their contract with SM Entertainment expired in July 2003, all six members signed with Good Entertainment and assumed creative control with the release of Brand New. That same year, members began to pursue individual careers.
Lee Sun-ho, mononymously credited as Andy (Korean: 앤디), is a South Korean singer, rapper and the youngest member of six-member boy band Shinhwa. Besides rapping for his band, Andy has ventured out into television acting, musicals, and solo singing. Andy is also the producer of duo Jumper and boy groups Teen Top, 100% and Up10tion.
Jung Pil-kyo is a South Korean singer-songwriter. He is best known as a member of the South Korean boy group Shinhwa. The main vocalist of Shinhwa, he debuted as a solo artist in 2005 and has since released multiple albums in both Korean and Japanese.
Park Choong-jae, known professionally as Jun Jin, is a South Korean singer, actor and entertainer, known as a member and rapper of six-member boy band Shinhwa. In 2014, Mun and his manager of 10 years, Lee Jong-hyun, set up a new management agency, E&J Entertainment, for his individual activities. Remastering Project is a music video remastering project by South Korean record label SM Entertainment and YouTube. The project intends to remaster music videos from the 1990s to the 2010s. It also plans to showcase the history of K-pop to international music fans to contribute to the growth of the Korean music industry. Remastered music videos were sequentially released starting from November 4, 2021.
