Tau tubulin kinase 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TTBK1 gene. [5]
The tau proteins are a group of six highly soluble protein isoforms produced by alternative splicing from the gene MAPT. They have roles primarily in maintaining the stability of microtubules in axons and are abundant in the neurons of the central nervous system (CNS), where the cerebral cortex has the highest abundance. They are less common elsewhere but are also expressed at very low levels in CNS astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.
Major prion protein(PrP), is encoded in the human by the PRNP gene also known as CD230 (cluster of differentiation 230). Expression of the protein is most predominant in the nervous system but occurs in many other tissues throughout the body.
Presenilin-1(PS-1) is a presenilin protein that in humans is encoded by the PSEN1 gene. Presenilin-1 is one of the four core proteins in the gamma secretase complex, which is considered to play an important role in generation of amyloid beta (Aβ) from amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP). Accumulation of amyloid beta is associated with the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
Microtubule-associated protein 2 is a protein in humans that is encoded by the MAP2 gene.
In enzymology, a tau-protein kinase is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction
Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 activator 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CDK5R1 gene.
Tubulin alpha-1B chain is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TUBA1B gene.
Tubulin alpha-3C/D chain is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TUBA3C gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase MARK1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MARK1 gene.
Phosphorylase b kinase gamma catalytic chain, skeletal muscle isoform is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PHKG1 gene.
Pantothenate kinase 2, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PANK2 gene.
Tubulin polymerization-promoting protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TPPP gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase PCTAIRE-3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PCTK3 gene.
Fyn-related kinase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the FRK gene.
Saitohin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the STH gene. This intronless gene encodes for 128 amino acids in an open reading frame. It is located in the human tau gene, in the intron between exons 9 and 10. Also, a single polymorphism of a nucleotide is seen through a change of glutamine residue 7(Q7R) to arginine. It is found to be susceptible to multiple degenerative diseases, however, the exact function of the gene is still unknown.
Protein KIBRA also known as kidney and brain expressed protein (KIBRA) or WW domain-containing protein 1 (WWC1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the WWC1 gene.
Tau tubulin kinase 2 is a protein in humans that is encoded by the TTBK2 gene. This gene encodes a serine-threonine kinase that putatively phosphorylates tau and tubulin proteins. Mutations in this gene cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 11 (SCA11); a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive ataxia and atrophy of the cerebellum and brainstem.
5-hydroxymethylcytosine binding, ES cell specific is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HMCES gene.
TMEM230 or transmembrane protein 230 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TMEM230 gene.
Lipase A, lysosomal acid type is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LIPA gene.
