Taekwondo at the 2020 Summer Paralympics – Qualification

Ranking lists begin from 1 January 2018 to 31 January 2020. Continental qualification tournaments will also determine what athlete would compete in the Summer Paralympics. [1]

Contents

The qualification slots are allocated to the NPC not to the individual athlete. However, if it is through the Bipartite Commission Invitation, the qualification slot is allocated to the individual athlete not to the NPC.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian and European Qualification Tournaments were moved to different locations.

Each NOC is allowed to enter up to one competitor per event, resulting in a maximum of eight competitors, four of each gender.

Athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics were to be held at the Tokyo National Stadium between 25 August and 6 September. Following the COVID-19 pandemic they have been rescheduled to between 24 August and 5 September 2021.

Qualification for badminton at the 2020 Summer Paralympics begins on 1 January 2019 to 16 May 2021. There are 90 expected slots for the sport across fourteen medal events.

Qualification for powerlifting at the 2020 Summer Paralympics began on 25 May 2018 and finished on 27 June 2021. There were 180 powerlifters competing in 20 events.

Qualification for swimming at the 2020 Summer Paralympics begin on 1 October 2018 and finish on 31 January 2020. There are 340 male and 280 female athlete quotas in 146 swimming events.

Qualification for boccia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics begin from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019. There are seven mixed events where 82 quotas are gender free and 34 are for females to make a total of 116 athletes.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Taekwondo at the 2024 Summer Olympics</span> 2024 Paris Olympic event

The taekwondo competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 7 to 10 August at the Grand Palais strip. 128 taekwondo fighters, with an equal distribution between men and women, will compete across eight different weight categories at the Games, the same amount as the previous editions since Beijing 2008. Each weight category is composed of sixteen taekwondo fighters; however, this figure may increase if additional athletes are invited and selected from the Refugee Olympic Team.

Taekwondo at the 2024 Summer Paralympics will be held at the Grand Palais. This will be the second time that taekwondo was included in the Summer Paralympic Games. There will be total 10 events.
