Nozimakhon Kayumova qualified for the women's javelin throw F13 event after winning the bronze medal at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Ihar Fartunau is a visually impaired Paralympic athlete from Belarus.
The 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships was held in Christchurch, New Zealand from January 21 to 30, 2011. Athletes with disabilities competed, and the Championships were a qualifying event for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
The 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was the biggest track and field competition for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Lyon, France, and lasted from 20 to 28 July. Around 1,100 athletes competed, from 94 different countries. The event was held in the Stade du Rhône located at the Parc de Parilly in Vénissieux, in Lyon Metropolis.
Jayden Sawyer is an Australian para athlete who competes mainly in the F38 category in throwing events. He won has won gold and bronze medals at the World Para Athletics Championships. He competed at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics.
South Africa entered 45 athletes in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro from 7–18 September 2016. The country qualified athletes in archery, athletics, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, powerlifting, rowing, swimming, shooting and wheelchair tennis.
Jaryd Clifford is an Australian Paralympic, vision impaired, middle-distance athlete. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics. He won gold medals in the Men's 1500m and 5000m T13 events at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Clifford represented Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, where he won silver medals in the Men's 5000m T13 and Men's Marathon T12, and a bronze medal in the Men's 1500 m T13. He has been selected for the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
Natalija Eder is a visually impaired Paralympian athlete from Austria competing mainly in F12 classification throwing events. She won a bronze medal in javelin throw at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympics.
Sundar Singh Gurjar an Indian Paralympic athlete from Rajasthan. He competes in javelin throw, shot put and discus throw in F46 category events. He won bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in men's javelin F46 event. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris.
Athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics were to be held at the Tokyo National Stadium between 25 August and 6 September. Following the COVID-19 pandemic they have been rescheduled to between 24 August and 5 September 2021.
Nozimakhon Kayumova is a visually impaired Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete and she competes in F13-classification javelin throw events. She won the gold medal in the women's javelin throw F13 event at both the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Zhao Yuping is a visually impaired Chinese Paralympic athlete competing in F12/F13-classification events. She won the silver medal in the women's javelin throw F13 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She is also a four-time gold medalist in this event at the World Para Athletics Championships.
Doniyor Saliev is a visually impaired Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete competing in T12-classification events. He is a two-time bronze medalist at the Summer Paralympics. He is also a two-time gold medalist in the men's long jump T12 event at the World Para Athletics Championships.
Aleksandr Svechnikov is a visually impaired Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete competing in F13-classification javelin throw events. He represented Uzbekistan at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F13 event.
Mauricio Valencia is a Colombian Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. He represented Colombia at the Summer Paralympics in 2012, 2016 and 2021. At the 2016 Summer Paralympics, he won two medals: the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F34 event and the bronze medal in the men's shot put F34 event. In 2021, he won the silver medal in the men's javelin throw F34 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
Salum Ageze Kashafali is a visually impaired Norwegian Paralympic athlete competing in the T12-classification of sprinting events. He won the gold medal in the men's 100 metres T12 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also set a T12 world record of 10.43 seconds. This makes him the fastest Paralympian in the 100m ever, regardless of disability.
