Tan-Tan is a city in Tan-Tan Province in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun in southwestern Morocco. It is a desert town with a population of 73,209. It is the largest city in the province and second largest city in the region after the capital Guelmim. It is located on the banks of the wadi Oued Ben Jelil, which flows into the Draa River 15 km north of the town. The Draa River at 1,100 km is the longest in Morocco and flows into the Atlantic Ocean soon after the confluence with the wadi. The town also has an airport, Tan Tan Plage Blanche Airport.

Guelmim, is a city in southern Morocco, often called Gateway to the Desert. It is the capital of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region which includes southern Morocco and the northeastern corner of Western Sahara. The population of the city was 187,808 as of the 2014 Moroccan census, making it the largest city in the region. The N1 and N12 highways cross at Guelmim and link it to the nearby region of Souss-Massa.

Bouizakarne is a town in the Guelmim Province, Guelmim-Oued Noun in southern Morocco. In the 2014 census, it had a population of 14,228, the fifth-largest in the region and second-highest in the province after the regional capital Guelmim.

2011 Royal Moroccan Air Force C-130 crash

On 26 July 2011, a C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft operated by the Royal Moroccan Air Force crashed near Guelmim, Morocco, killing all 80 people on board. The plane was carrying 71 passengers, mostly members of the Moroccan Armed Forces, and nine crew. Three occupants were pulled alive from the wreckage but later died of their injuries

El Ouatia, also known as Tan-Tan Plage, is a town and municipality in Tan-Tan of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region of Morocco. At the time of the 2004 census, the commune had a total population of 6407 people living in 1592 households. It is one of Morocco's major fishing ports.

The Noun River or Wad Noun is a river in Morocco and the southernmost permanent watercourse in the country. It is located 70 km north of the Draa River and flows southwest originating in the Anti-Atlas, passing south of Guelmim and meeting the Atlantic Ocean at Foum Asaca in the region of Sbouya.
