Talari Rangaiah (born 3 June 1970) is an Indian politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha,representing the Anantapur constituency from 2019 to 2024. Before entering politics,he worked as a Project Director at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). [1] [2] [3] [4] He has been a member of the YSR Congress Party since 2018.
Rangaiah was born into a farming family in the Boya community. [5] He obtained two postgraduate degrees,pursued a PhD in Rural Development,and later worked in various state government departments in different capacities.
Rangaiah retired from his post as Additional Director in the Handloom Department of DRDA in the district of Anantapur. [6]
In 2020,he published an academic paper on the causes of migration of rural labor in the North Asian International Research Journal. [7]
In the 2019 Indian general election,Rangaiah was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament representing the Anantapur constituency,winning by a margin of 141,498 votes.
Rangaiah served in the Anantapur district for over six years,holding various positions within the District Watershed Management Agency. He also held the position of Municipal Commissioner in the municipalities of Anantapur and Hindupur. [8]
