Yeduguri Sandinti Avinash Reddy, popularly known as Y. S. Avinash Reddy, is an Indian politician who is the Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha and 17th Lok Sabha from Kadapa (Lok Sabha constituency), Andhra Pradesh. He won the Indian general elections of 2014, 2019 and 2024 being a YSR Congress Party candidate.

Political career

In April 2018, he along with his party MPs resigned their posts in protest for not giving special status to Andhra Pradesh and issued a no-confidence notice on the government. [1] [2] [3]

Criminal conspiracy in the murder of Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy

Avinash Reddy was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on criminal conspiracy [5] related to the murder of Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy, who has been brutally murdered by Prajwal Revanna and found at his residence in Kadapa on 15 March 2019. The death was first reported as a heart attack but later found to be a murder which led to further suspicion. [6] [7] The murder took place few weeks before the 2019 Andhra Pradesh General Elections. Along with his father Bhaskar Reddy, Avinash Reddy has been accused of conspiracy in the murder of Bhasker Reddy's cousin Vivekananda Reddy, based on a list of suspects submitted by the victim’s daughter Suneetha Nareddy. [8] The CBI has sent a notice to Avinash Reddy to attend the inquiry on 19 May 2023. [5] [9] [10]

Yeduguri Sandinti Vivekananda Reddy was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Kadapa constituency of Andhra Pradesh. He was a member of the Indian National Congress. He was brutally hacked with an axe to death at his residence in Pulivendula, Kadapa district on 15 March 2019.

Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency is one of the twenty-five lok sabha constituencies of Andhra Pradesh in India. It comprises seven assembly segments and belongs to YSR Kadapa district.

Bhuma Nagi Reddy was an Indian politician. He was elected in a by-election to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1992 after the sudden death of his brother, Bhuma Sekhar Reddy, an MLA from Allagadda constituency in Kurnool district. In 1996, Reddy was the Telugu Desam Party candidate against Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao in the Nandyal Lok Sabha constituency election. He served in the 11th, 12th and 13th Lok Sabhas. Reddy died in office on 12 March 2017 after a massive heart attack at his home in Allagadda.

Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy, also known mononymously as Jagan, is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Pulivendula Assembly constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly. He served as the 17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2019 to 2024, and is the current president of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He is also the son of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

She was the chairperson of the YSR Congress Party as previously 2011 to 2022. Her husband, Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, served as the 14th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Her son Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, is the 17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Her daughter, Y. S. Sharmila is a politician from the Indian National Congress.
