Tammara Thibeault (born December 27, 1996) is a Canadian boxer competing in the Middleweight category. [2] Thibeault won the 2022 World Championship in Istanbul after earlier winning the middleweight bronze in 2019. She is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion when she won gold in Birmingham in 2022, improving on her bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Thibeault is also the current Pan American Games champion when she won gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games, again improving on her bronze from the 2019 Pan American Games.

Career

Senior

At her first Senior event, Thibeault won the gold medal at the 2017 Pan American Championships which were held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. [3]

At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Thibeault won the bronze medal in the middleweight event. [4]

At the 2019 Pan American Games, Thibeault originally won the bronze medal in the middleweight event, but was later upgraded to silver after the gold medalist was stripped of her medal due to doping. [5]

Thibeault won a bronze medal at the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. [6] [7]

Thibeault qualified to represent Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [8] [9] Ultimately, Thibeault would lose in the quarterfinals of the middleweight event, one win away from a guaranteed medal. [10] [11]

In April 2022, Thibeault won the gold medal at the 2022 Pan American Championships which were held in Guayquil, Ecuador, which represented her second gold medal win at the tournament. Thiebeault defeated Panama's Atheyna Bylon in a unanimous decision to win gold. [12] The following month, at the 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, Thibeault would go on to win the gold medal in the middleweight event, by beating Panama's Atheyna Bylon again in a 4−1 decision. Personal life

Thibeault started boxing at the age of 10 and has a bachelor's degrees in linguistics and two minors in Mandarin and Spanish. [4] Thibeault plans to open an international corporation after her retirement from the sport of boxing. [4]

Mary Spencer is a Canadian boxer who competes as a 75 kilogram middleweight. She has won three World Championships, one Pan American Games gold medal, and eight Canadian Championships. Spencer's athletic career started early competing in multiple sports as a child including; Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Track and field. Spencer began serious boxing training in 2002 and now trains at the Windsor Amateur Boxing Club under Coach Charlie Stewart. As of July 26, 2011, her amateur record is 115 wins, 9 losses. Spencer was born in Wiarton, Ontario and currently lives in Windsor, Ontario. She is a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.

Yenebier Adelina Guillén Benítez is a Dominican boxer who competes as a 75 kilogram middleweight, Pan American Champion and Female Boxer in 2013 and silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games. She also won the gold medal at the 2008 Central American and Caribbean Championship, 2013 Bolivarian Games and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games.
