Tapas Roy is an Indian politician and a former Minister of State for Planning and Statistics in West Bengal. [1] He was elected as a legislator of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2001,2011,2016 and 2021. [2] [3] [4] [5] He was an All India Trinamool Congress politician. On 4 March 2024,Roy quit Trinamool Congress and resigned from the post of MLA. On 6 March 2024,he joined the Bhartiya Janata Party. [6] [7]
