Teemu Lepaus (born March 12, 1993) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who plays for Bietigheim Steelers in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). [1] He also plays roller in-line hockey last time playing for Team Haippi winning the Finnish championships. He has also played for the Finnish men's team winning silver in 2017 world championships.
In the 2014–15 season Lepaus played in EHC Lustenau for 9 games. Lustenau won the INL championship that season. Lepaus also played in Suomi-sarja for Ketterä.
In the 2015–16 season Lepaus had moved to play for SaPKo in the finnish second-tier league, Mestis. He played 40 games and put up 22 points. 12 of those were goals.
The next season, 2016–17 Lepaus played for SaPKo for the last time. He played 48 games and made 62 points, but only 16 were goals. SaPKo won the Mestis championship and Lepaus got chosen in the all-star team. Lepaus had the most playoff-points (17) and the most assists (46). Lepaus was also chosen as the playoffs MVP.
For the next four seasons (2017–2021) Lepaus played in the finnish first-tier league, SM-liiga. He was in the roster of Ilves. Lepaus played 203 games in those four seasons and put up 104 points. 41 of those were goals. [1] [2]
In 2021 Lepaus signed a one-year contract with Porin Ässät. [3] But he went to EHC Visp in the middle of the season.
Lepaus' retired brother Toni played ice hockey in Mestis. [4] Lepaus played football in Ilves when he was a kid. [5]

Teemu Lepaus played in the 2017 roller in-line hockey championships for Finland men's national inline hockey team "Rullaleijonat". Teemu lepaus scored 22 points (tournaments best). [6] Finland got 2nd place in the tournament. [7]
In 2021 Lepaus was a part of Team Haippi in the Rullakiekon SM-liiga (finnish top tier roller in-line hockey league). They won the tournament without losing one game. [8] The team had the following players: Teemu Lepaus, Alexander Barkov, Eemeli Suomi, Aleksi Heponiemi, Jonatan Tanus, Kristian Tanus, Patrik Puistola, Henrik Haapala, Anton Levtchi and Lassi Yrjölä. The SM-liiga, colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league. The SM-liiga is not directly overseen by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, but the league and association have an agreement of cooperation. SM is a common abbreviation for Suomen mestaruus, "Finnish championship".
Mestis is the second-highest men's ice hockey league in Finland. The league was established by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2000 to replace the I-divisioona.
Savonlinnan Pallokerho (SaPKo) is an ice hockey team from Savonlinna, Finland, they currently play in the Suomi-sarja. It plays its home matches at the Talvisalo ice rink.
Borna Rendulić is a Croatian professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Rendulić began playing hockey in Croatia and made his professional debut with KHL Medveščak in 2006, before moving to Finland in 2011 in order to further his career. He played for several teams in both the top-tier SM-liiga and second-tier Mestis, then moved to North America in 2014 when he signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL. Rendulić made his NHL debut that year, the first Croatian-trained player to do so, but spent most of the following two seasons with the Avalanche minor-league affiliates in the AHL. After two seasons spent primarily with the Avalanche's AHL affiliate, he signed with the Vancouver Canucks, spending a further season in the AHL with their affiliate before returning to Europe. Internationally, Rendulić has played for Croatia in several World Championships, both at the junior and senior level.
Janne Laakkonen is a Finnish professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for FPS in the Finnish Mestis. Laakkonen most recently iced with Elite League side Fife Flyers, and was previously with Coventry Blaze.
Jan-Mikael Järvinen is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with the Porin Ässät in the Liiga.
Pekka Tirkkonen is a Finnish ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey player. He most recently served as head coach of EHC Kloten of the National League (NL). Tirkkonen was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 2nd round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft.
The U20 SM-sarja is the premier junior men’s ice hockey league in Finland. It was previously known as the A-nuorten SM-sarja during 1945 to 1991 and the Nuorten SM-liiga during 1991 to 2020. The league was founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 1945 and a Finnish Champion in men’s under-20 ice hockey has been named annually since the league’s inaugural season – with the exception of the 2019–20 season, in which the playoffs were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eighteen to twenty teams compete in the U20 SM-sarja regular season, which is played in a preliminary ranking stage followed by a divisional or group stage.

The 2016–17 Mestis season was the 17th season of Mestis, the second highest level of ice hockey in Finland after Liiga. Previous seasons champion Jukurit got a place in the Liiga. IPK got promoted from Suomi-sarja at the end of last season. Espoo United got a place in Mestis after Espoo Blues suffered bankruptcy and the league was exceptionally played with 13 teams.
The 2018–19 Mestis season is the 19th season of Mestis, the second highest level of ice hockey in Finland after Liiga. KOOVEE was promoted from Suomi-sarja due to Espoo United declaring bankruptcy at the end of last season.
Ice hockey is the most popular sport in Finland in terms of television viewership and game attendance figures. It is third most popular sport in participation amongst children. As of 2020, approximately 1.3% of the Finnish population was registered with the International Ice Hockey Federation, ranking Finland second in the world for percentage of population participating in ice hockey and the highest percentage of any country outside of North America.
Naisten Liiga, also called the Naisten SM-liiga (NSML) and Jääkiekon naisten SM-liiga, is the elite league for women's ice hockey in Finland. Founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association as the Naisten SM-sarja in 1982, it was so known until being rebranded as the Naisten Liiga in 2017. The league comprises approximately 250 players across ten teams.
Naisten Mestis is the second-highest women's ice hockey league in Finland. The league was founded as Naisten I-divisioona in 1985 by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association when the number of teams playing in the Naisten SM-sarja was limited. It was renamed Naisten Mestis prior to the 2012-13 season.

The 2020–21 Mestis season was the 21st season of Mestis, the second highest level of ice hockey in Finland after Liiga. Due to promotion/relegation games being cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic in the last season both semi-finalists from last seasons Suomi-sarja were promoted to Mestis. Therefore, this seasons consisted of 14 teams.
The Naisten Suomi-sarja, distinguished as the Jääkiekon naisten Suomi-sarja, is the third-tier women's ice hockey league in Finland. It was established by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2003 and is the lowest tier of national ice hockey competition, below the premier Naisten Liiga and secondary Naisten Mestis, but above regional leagues.
Kasperi Nuto is a Finnish ice hockey player that currently serves as the captain of Karhu HT. Nuto plays as a winger. Nuto has played 11 Liiga games with Porin Ässät and has one point. Nuto has played for three different Mestis teams and in total has played 17 Mestis games with 3 points. Nuto has played in Karhu HT since 2017.
The 1967–68 Porin Ässät season was the club's inaugural season. Ässät had been formed after a merger with Porin Karhut and RU-38 in June 1967 and would compete in the top-tier of ice hockey in Finland, the SM-sarja. Ässät inherited Karhut's place in the 1967 Finnish Cup, which it won after beating SaPKo 7–0 in the final. Ässät also inherited RU-38's place in the IIHF European Cup, as RU-38 had won the Finnish Championship 1967.
