Temple is the first extended play by American heavy metal band Thy Will Be Done. It is the band's first release on their own Eye.On Lion Recordings. The EP peaked at #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts. [1] The album was voted Revolver Magazine's "Album of the Week" upon its debut. [1]
In June 2011, the band began pre-production on a follow-up to their 2009 album In Ancient of Days. [2] In November the band announced they'd completed work on the album, and that The groups own rhythm guitarist Kurt Fraunfelter oversaw the engineering of the release with Zeuss (Whitechapel, Chimaira) handling mixing duties at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, Massachusetts. [3]
In November 2011, the band that they would be headlining the inaugural "Strength Beyond Strength" tribute to the late "Dimebag" Darrell Abbottevent on December 8 at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. [4] Proceeds from the event would be donated to help after-school music programs in the Worcester area. [4]
The first track from the upcoming release, titled "You, The Apathy Divine," premiered exclusively through Revolver on June 21, 2012. [5] The track was released as a digital download on June 26 via iTunes [6] following their performance with Metallica at Orion Music + More, [7] on June 24, 2012. "You, The Apathy Divine" climbed steadily on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's weekly Top 12 countdown "The Devil's Dozen," eventually hitting the #1 position for 4 straight weeks. The single remained a top requested song for 20+ weeks, and listeners ultimately voted it as one of the top 12 most requested songs for 2012. [1]
In late June and into July 2012 the group co-headed a tour of Japan with The Aggressive Dogs. [8]
On August 15, 2012, the band announced that their upcoming EP would be titled Temple and would arrive on September 25, to be released independently via their label Eye.On Lion Records. [9] Speaking on their decision to independently-release the EP, the band stated:
“As a band, we’ve always wanted to preserve our expressions as well as the way they reach the listener. It’s important for us to have a fan feel, see, and hear the finished piece as closely to the creative source of energy as possible. Eye.On Lion is a way for us to offer our artistic creations to those who choose to support us and by proxy, excludes a lot of ‘middle-people’.” [9]
In September 2012, the band released another track, titled "The Great Rebuilding," via absolutepunk.net. [10] They also performed at "Stillborn Fest 2012" with Hatebreed, Emmure, and others. [11]
In 2012, the band performed with Metallica at Orion Music + More, [7] as well as Party to the Apocalypse 2012 starring Shadows Fall, God Forbid and Trumpet the Harlot. [12] [13] The band joined Shai Hulud, Altars, and Beyond The Shore to tour the U.S. in spring 2013. [14]

Metallica is an American heavy metal band. It was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career. The band's fast tempos, instrumentals and aggressive musicianship made them one of the founding "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Metallica's current lineup comprises founding members and primary songwriters Hetfield and Ulrich, longtime lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. Guitarist Dave Mustaine, who formed Megadeth after being fired from Metallica, and bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted are former members of the band.
Slayer was an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya. Slayer's fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Slayer's current lineup consists of King, Araya, drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt, who initially joined as a touring member in 2011 before joining the band permanently after Hanneman's death in 2013. Drummer Jon Dette was also a member of the band.
Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneering acts of the Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates - regarded as the Gothenburg fathers in the film entitled Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary released by Century Media, which was filmed in their home town in April 2009. After a nearly three-decade long collaboration of four founding members frequent lineup changes between 2016 and 2021 have left only vocalist Mikael Stanne as an original member, together with long-time keyboardist Martin Brändström.
Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group consists of bassist John Campbell, vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, and drummer Art Cruz. The band is considered a significant member of the new wave of American heavy metal movement.
Machine Head is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Robb Flynn, who remains the only original member of the band. Shai Hulud is an American metalcore band formed in Pompano Beach, Florida, in 1995, and later based in Poughkeepsie, New York. The band is named after the giant sandworms in Frank Herbert's novel Dune.
Vader is a Polish death metal band from Olsztyn. Formed in 1983, the group was founded by then-bassist Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek and guitarist Zbigniew "Vika" Wróblewski. Vader went through several lineup changes over the years, with Wiwczarek as the only constant member. Since 2022, the band has comprised Wiwczarek on lead guitar and vocals, rhythm guitarist Marek "Spider" Pająk, bassist Tomasz "Hal" Halicki, and drummer Michał Andrzejczyk.
Hatebreed is an American metalcore band from Bridgeport, Connecticut, formed in 1994. The band released its debut album Satisfaction is the Death of Desire in 1997, which gave the band a cult following. The band signed to Universal Records and released Perseverance in 2002, which hit the Billboard 200. Combining elements of hardcore and heavy metal, the band is often described as a metalcore and hardcore punk. They have played a major role in the Connecticut hardcore scene.
Corrosion of Conformity is an American heavy metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, formed in 1982. The band has undergone multiple lineup changes throughout its existence, with lead guitarist Woody Weatherman as the sole constant member. Weatherman, founding bassist Mike Dean, founding drummer Reed Mullin and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Pepper Keenan are widely regarded as its "classic" lineup. After a hiatus in 2006, Corrosion of Conformity returned in 2010 without Keenan, who had been busy touring and recording with Down, but announced their reunion with him in December 2014. More lineup changes have happened since then, with John Green replacing Mullin after his death in 2020 and Dean departing from the band once again in 2024.
Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) has remained unchanged since 2001. Mastodon has released eight studio albums, as well as a number of other releases. The band's 2002 debut album, Remission, garnered significant critical acclaim for its unique sound. Mastodon's second full-length release, Leviathan, is a concept album based on the novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. Three magazines awarded the record "Album of the Year" in 2004: Revolver, Kerrang! and Terrorizer.
3 Inches of Blood is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1999 in Victoria, British Columbia, reunited in 2024 after disbanding in 2015. Returning with Cam Pipes, Justin Hagberg, Shane Clark, Nick Cates, and Ash Pearson. Their music was strongly influenced by the new wave of British heavy metal movement.
BoySetsFire is an American post-hardcore band from Newark, Delaware. Formed in October 1994, BoySetsFire is composed of guitarists Chad Istvan and Josh Latshaw, vocalist Nathan Gray, drummer Jared Shavelson, and bassists Chris Rakus and Robert Ehrenbrand. Volbeat are a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. They play a fusion of rock and roll and heavy metal. Their current line-up consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Michael Poulsen, drummer Jon Larsen, and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. The band is signed to Dutch label Mascot Records and has released eight studio albums and one DVD. Their second album Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil received platinum status, and their 2010 release Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was subject to widespread international critical acclaim, receiving triple platinum in Denmark and Austria, double platinum in Sweden, platinum in Canada, 5x Gold in Germany, and gold in both Finland and the United States. Volbeat's most recent studio album, Servant of the Mind, was released in 2021.
Damien Zev Moyal is an American vocalist, lyricist, musician, songwriter, and designer. Born in Amstelveen, North Holland, Netherlands, he moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Miami, Florida, where he notably fronted such hardcore punk, metallic hardcore, and melodic hardcore bands as Shai Hulud, As Friends Rust, Morning Again, Culture, Bird of Ill Omen, and Bridgeburne R. Moyal has been based in Ann Arbor, Michigan since 2006, and is the founding member of the semi-eponymously named gothic rock/post-punk band Damien Done.
Matthew Ian Fox is an American musician, founding member and a current lead guitarist for the hardcore punk band Shai Hulud and his side project Zombie Apocalypse.
Black Veil Brides is an American rock band based in Hollywood, California. The group formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is currently composed of lead vocalist Andy Biersack, multi instrumentalist Jinxx, lead guitarist Jake Pitts, drummer Christian "CC" Coma and bassist Lonny Eagleton. Black Veil Brides are known for their use of black makeup, body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair, which were all inspired by the stage personas of Kiss and Mötley Crüe, as well as other 1980s glam metal acts.

Metal is the debut EP by heavy metal band Newsted. The band was formed by American bassist Jason Newsted in 2012. The EP was released on January 8, 2013, under Newsted's own record label Chophouse Records. The EP was recorded at the Creation Lab studio in Turlock, California.
Thy Will Be Done is an American heavy metal band formed in 2005 from Providence, Rhode Island. As of 2024, the ensemble has released three studio albums and one EP. The albums Was and Is to Come (2007) and In Ancient of Days (2009) were released via Stillborn Records. The 2012 EP Temple and 2024 full-length Pillar of Fire were released via Eye.On Lion Recordings. Both Was and Is to Come and Temple reached no. 9 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts. Since the release of Temple, the band has recorded two cover songs: "Emerald" by Thin Lizzy and "March of the Pigs" by Nine Inch Nails, as well as released two singles, "Breath of Light" and "Last Ghost to Kill".
Pillar of Fire is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Thy Will Be Done. It is the band's first album in 12 years. It is also the band's first album to feature lead guitarist Chris Robinson and bassist Chris Cote. The album was released via the band's own music label Eye.On Lion Recordings, with KMG Distribution handling the world-wide distribution.
