Tetra-Fang (stylized as TETRA-FANG) is a Japanese pop-rock band considered a "limited rock unit" and was formed to perform songs on the soundtrack for the 2008 Kamen Rider Series Kamen Rider Kiva .

History

Tetra-Fang was formed in 2008 to serve as a promotional band for Kamen Rider Kiva. [1] [2] The group composes music in a rock style and features a rotating line-up of members for each of their singles. [3] Koji Seto who portrays Wataru Kurenai, the lead character in Kamen Rider Kiva, serves as Koji, the lead vocalist of the group for the single releases of "Destiny's Play" and "Individual-System." "Destiny's Play" was released on April 23, 2008, and came with a DVD containing a music video for the song. The single ranked 25th on the Japanese Oricon Weekly Single's Charts in its first week. "Individual-System" was released on June 25, 2008, and was the second ending theme for Kamen Rider Kiva. [4]

An arrangement of "Individual-System" was released one month after the initial release of the original version on July 30, 2008, and featured Keisuke Kato on vocals, known as "Fight for Justice: Individual-System Nago Ver.". [5] Also, on August 6, 2008, a mini-album was released, Supernova, after the song of the same name used as Emperor Form's theme song. It also features character songs for Garulu, Basshaa, and Dogga, two of which have been featured as the ending theme in the series.

In early December, the band released their first and only fully original album entitled Destiny. The album contained numerous character songs written by previous tokusatsu songwriters including Ryo and Shuhei Naruse. The album also included the tracks Destiny's Play, Individual System, Roots of the King and Supernova from previous releases.

Also in December, another album was released called Inherited System, which contained character songs sung by actors who have used the IXA System in the TV series. Two Tetra-Fang songs were included in the release, which were Individual System and Fight for Justice.

The group officially disbanded after Kamen Rider Kiva had completed its broadcasting, however both keyboardist Shuhei and guitarist Ayano continue to be involved in the musical side of the Kamen Rider franchise. Shuhei and Ayano reunited as part of the Kamen Rider Decade series, producing three albums of cover versions of previous Kamen Rider theme songs. The songs arranged by Shuhei featured Ayano on guitar. Both musicians have since continued providing their musical services for the franchise, composing and performing several songs featured in the various series.

The popularity of the group however resulted in a reunion for a final album consisting mostly of covers of previous Tetra-Fang songs. The album however, entitled Masked Rider Kiva Destiny's Play Re-Union, did include three original songs; two sung by Kivat and the final track sung by Wataru and Otoya as a duet.

Kamen Rider Kiva is the 2008 Kamen Rider Japanese tokusatsu television series produced by Toei Company and Ishimori Productions. It is the series' ninth series in its Heisei era, and 18th series overall since the debut of Kamen Rider in 1971. It premiered on January 27, 2008, following the finale of Kamen Rider Den-O, and aired as a part of TV Asahi's 2008 Super Hero Time block with Engine Sentai Go-onger. The series was advertised to have horror film themes, such as Kamen Rider Kiva being a vampire. The first episode began with a commemoration of the series in honor of the seventieth anniversary of Shotaro Ishinomori's birthday.

Kamen Rider Den-O & Kiva the Movie: Climax Deka is a Japanese superhero tokusatsu film in the Kamen Rider franchise. Climax Deka is the second film to feature the characters of the television drama Kamen Rider Den-O and the first to feature the characters of Kamen Rider Kiva. It opened in theaters on April 12, 2008 as part of the Kamen Rider Spring Festival. Keisuke Katō is a Japanese actor. He is best known for his roles as Kousuke Kitamura (Ivory) in TV Tokyo's drama Happy Boys and Keisuke Nago/Kamen Rider Ixa in TV Asahi's tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Kiva. Also, he is one of PureBoys, though on March 21, 2008 he announced his graduation from the group alongside colleagues Yukihiro Takiguchi and Masei Nakayama. This graduation was made official on March 31, 2008; the "graduation ceremony" was on March 28, 2008 during the PureBoys' weekly school-themed internet broadcast show. He graduated from Nihon University. In 2016, he launched his apparel brand "StarLean". On March 31, 2017, he left the talent agency Box Corporation to retire from the entertainment business, but from 2018, he is affiliated with the talent agency G-Star.Pro.

Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle is a team up film featuring the main characters of Kamen Rider Gaim and Kamen Rider Wizard as the part of the annual winter "Movie War" franchise, as well as to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Heisei era Kamen Rider Series and the fifth anniversary of the "Movie War" franchise itself. The show premiered on September 2, 2018, following the finale of Kamen Rider Build, joining Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger and later, the miniseries Super Sentai Strongest Battle, followed by Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, in the Super Hero Time line-up.
