The Texas Rugby Union (TRU) is the Geographical Union (GU) for rugby union teams playing in Texas and portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma for USA Rugby. [1] It is a non-profit organization and is the primary overseeing body for the promotion of rugby union in the region.

The TRU is divided into four divisions: Men, Women, college men, and College Women.

The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The league temporarily operated for the 2021 season as Double-A Central before reassuming its original moniker in 2022.

Texas is home of several national sports league franchises among other professional sports, being the second most populated U.S. state. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport(IATA: AUS, ICAO: KAUS, FAA LID: AUS) was the first civilian airport built in Austin, Texas, United States. It was replaced as Greater Austin's main airport by the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, which is located on the site of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base. A few miles northeast of downtown Austin, the airport was named after Robert Mueller, a city commissioner who died in office in January 1927. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport was identified with the airport code AUS, which was reassigned to Austin–Bergstrom International Airport in 1999.

The Austin Huns Rugby Football Club is a Men's Rugby Club American rugby union team based in Austin, Texas. In June 2017 they became U.S. Division 1 National Champions beating New York Athletic Club RFC 27-23 in the final match.

The 1955 Sam Houston State Bearkats football team was an American football team that represented Sam Houston State Teachers College—now known as Sam Houston State University–as a member of the Lone Star Conference (LSC) during the 1955 college football season. Led by fourth-year head coach Paul Pierce, the Bearkats compiled an overall record of 6–1–2 with a mark of 5–1 in conference play, sharing the LSC title with East Texas State and Southwest Texas State.

The 1957 Southwest Texas State Bobcats football team was an American football team that represented Southwest Texas State Teachers College during the 1957 NCAA College Division football season as a member of the Lone Star Conference (LSC). In their fourth year under head coach R. W. Parker, the team compiled an overall record of 4–6 with a mark of 3–4 in conference play.
