The Thai Super Cup was a football cup competition among top football clubs in Thailand. It was initially launched in December 2009, featuring the top four teams of the 2009 Thai Premier League season. However, only one edition - taking place in 2009 - occurred.

Police Lieutenant Kiatisuk "Zico" Senamuang, is a Thai football manager and a former footballer who played between 1989 and October 2007. During his eighteen-year career Kiatisuk played as a striker and scored 251 goals in 339 appearances. The former striker played for clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, England and Vietnam as well as in his homeland. Kiatisuk also earned 131 caps and scored 70 goals for Thailand between 1992 and 2007. In 2009 Thai Port added the Thai FA Cup to their list of honours. The 2010 season Thai Port triumphant again as they won the newly introduced Thai League Cup.

Army United Football Club was a Thai football club under the stewardship of Royal Thai Army based in the Din Daeng District of Bangkok and is one of the oldest continuing football club in Asia until they decided to discontinue the club in the end of season 2019 with 103 years old. The club was founded in 1916 and was known as Royal Thai Army until November 2010. Their home stadium is known locally as the Thai Army Sports Stadium and more widely known around Asian circles as the Royal Thai Army Stadium of which has been host to numerous international youth matches due to its central Bangkok location. Despite finishing bottom of the Thai Premier League in 2010 they managed to regain their top-flight status after winning Group B of the Thai League Play-off in 2011.

Thai League 1

The Thai League 1, often referred to as T1, is the top level of the Thai football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2. Seasons run from February to October, with each team playing 30 games. It is sponsored by Toyota and therefore officially known as the Toyota Thai League. In the Thai League, most of the games are played during Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played on Wednesdays and Fridays.

2009 Thai FA Cup football tournament season

The Thai FA Cup 2009 was the 14th season of Thailand knockout football competition. The competition started on 27 June 2009 and concluded with the Final on 21 October 2009. It was the first time the competition was held in 8 years. The tournament is organized by the Football Association of Thailand.
