Thameens Films is an Indian film production company based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was founded in early 2000 by Shibu K, who is also running Thameens Maax Theatre & Thameens Release for distribution of movies mainly Tamil & Malayalam movies. They have distributed around 101 films in different languages across regions.

Thameens Films has acquired the Kerala theatrical rights of Vishal, Samantha starrer Irumbu Thirai which is slated for release in 11 May 2018. [1] [2]

In 2022 Thameens Films Distributed India's Biggest Movie 'RRR', Directed By Rajamouli.The Budget Of The Movie was above 450cr. Company bagged the distribution rights of kerala for 2022 biggest Industry hit Movie Vikram starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Lokesh kanagaraj.

P. S. Mithran is an Indian film director and writer, who is currently working in the Tamil film industry. Mithran's native place is Mannargudi. He made his directorial debut through Irumbu Thirai (2018). He followed it up with the superhero film, Hero (2019), and spy thriller, Sardar (2022).

Chakra (transl. Wheel) is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language action techno-thriller film written and directed by M. S. Anandan in his directorial debut. The film stars Vishal and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles while Regina Cassandra played the antagonist. The film's theme is based on cybercrimes and e-commerce scams. where it revolves around two officers, who investigates about the robberies which occurred on Independence Day. The film was percevied to be an unofficial stand-alone sequel to Irumbu Thirai due to the similar theme and ending between the two films.
