New Kanpur City is a satellite city of Kanpur, India. The new city spreads over 10,000 acres of prime land on the banks of the Ganges. Co-operative housing societies will get preference for allotment of plots in this new city. The remaining land will be allotted to the private developers with the clause that they will develop houses covering minimum 25 per cent of the plot area. New Kanpur city will be the most modern and well planned city in the whole country.
The Howrah–Delhi main line is a railway line connecting Delhi and Kolkata cutting across northern India. The 1,532 km (952 mi) railway line was opened to traffic in 1866 with the introduction of the "1 Down/2 Up Mail" train.
The Mughalsarai–Kanpur section, officially Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar–Kanpur section, is a railway line connecting Mughalsarai Junction and Kanpur Central. This 346 km (215 mi) track is part of the Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. The main line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway. Mughalsarai is under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. Some branch lines are under the jurisdiction of the North Eastern Railway and Northern Railway.
