On September 30, 2024, FX gave production an 11-episode series order. The series is based on The Beauty, a comic book written by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. It is created by Ryan Murphy and Matt Hodgson who are expected to executive produce alongside Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, and Eric Gitter. Production companies involved with the series are 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Productions. [3]
Upon the series order announcement, Peters, Ramos, Pope, and Ashton Kutcher were cast in starring roles. [3] Rebecca Hall was cast as part of the main cast by the time the series had begun production. [7] In February 2025, it was reported that Isabella Rossellini had joined the cast in a recurring role. [8]
Filming for the series began on December 2, 2024, in New York City. [7] [9]
It was confirmed the crew was filming in late January 2025 in Pearl River, Rockland, New York. [10] Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall were spotted filming in New York City on February 10, 2025. [11]
The Beauty is scheduled to premiere on January 21, 2026 on FX and FX on Hulu with the first three episodes available immediately and the rest of the eight episodes on a weekly basis in the United States. The series is also slated to be released simultaneously on Disney+ internationally. [4]
