"The City" is the debut single by English rock band The 1975, released in 2012. The song was originally recorded for their debut extended play Facedown , with a re-recorded version later appearing on their fourth extended play IV and (in edited form) as the second track on their self-titled debut. It was re-released as a single in 2013 in the form of a re-recorded version (edited for their debut album) which peaked at number 30 on the UK Singles Chart and number 27 on the Scottish Singles Chart. The song also featured in the game FIFA 14 .
"The City" was originally released by the band in 2012 on their debut EP, Facedown. After the band released their breakthrough single, "Chocolate", they originally intended to follow up with releasing "Settle Down". During the band's interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 in April 2013, singer Matty Healy revealed they had only been sent the new mix of the song weeks prior and so decided to re-release it as a single and on the new EP.
A second music video to accompany the re-release of "The City" was first released onto YouTube on 25 April 2013 at a total length of three minutes and thirty-seven seconds. [3]

"What About Us" is a single released by British-Irish girl group The Saturdays. Their first international single, it is the lead single from their first American-only release EP, Chasing the Saturdays (2013). It also acts as the second single from their fourth studio album Living for the Weekend (2013). The single was first released in the United States and Canada on 18 December 2012 via digital download, before being released in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2013 via CD single and digital download. The single was written by Camille Purcell, Ollie Jacobs, Philip Jacobs. There are two different versions of the track which have been recorded and released: a solo version, which was released exclusively in the US and Canada, and a version featuring Jamaican rapper Sean Paul, which was released internationally. Music critics gave the song positive feedback, but questioned the heavily auto-tuned chorus and the move away from the group's traditional sound.

Development of the record began after the band completed their eponymous debut album. Working with producer Mike Crossey, the 1975 created "Chocolate" during the album's recording sessions before building the other tracks of the EP around the song. The band sought to create a cohesive concept for the record, primarily producing the remaining four songs by themselves in the bedroom of singer Healy at Rose Cottage in Cheshire.

It was founded originally as Creek when lead singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie met drummer Ciara Doran while attending university in Manchester. The other members are guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood, completing the lineup. Pale Waves's early work is often described as 80s-inspired indie rock or synth-pop; their second and third albums, however, owe more to the pop-punk genre.

Lyrically, the song discusses insecurities and doubt in a romantic relationship. A music video for "There's a Honey", directed by Silent Tapes, was released on 11 April 2017. "Spinning" is a song by Filipino recording artist No Rome, English musician Charli XCX and band the 1975. The song was written by Andrew Wyatt, Charli XCX, No Rome and the 1975 members Matty Healy and George Daniel, while the production was handled by the latter three. It was released as a standalone single by Dirty Hit on 4 March 2021. Creation of the song began in 2018 when the producers developed its chorus, beat and production. Charli XCX received the song the following year, writing and recording her portion in one night. The singer later recorded vocals with Healy and Daniel in Sydney, while the song was completed remotely in early 2021.
It's clear after a quick run through of The 1975's online material that the Manchester outfit has a knack for versatile songwriting. A couple weeks ago the band dropped "The City," an upbeat track not far off from the industrial-pop stylings of their compatriots in The Big Pink.
