The Hague Journal of Diplomacy (HJD) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published quarterly. [1] [2] [3] HJD publishes research on the theory, practice, processes and outcomes of diplomacy in both its traditional state-based forms, as well as contemporary diplomatic expressions practiced by states and non-state entities. [4] Prof. Jan Melissen is the Editor-in-Chief of the Hague Journal of Diplomacy. [5] Prof. Jan Melissen (Leiden University and University of Antwerp) and Prof. Paul Sharp (University of Minnesota, Duluth) are the journal's founding co-editors. [6] Dr. Constance Duncombe (Monash University), Dr. Jérémie Cornut (Simon Fraser University, Vancouver), Dr. Marcus Holmes (The College of William & Mary), Dr. Halvard Leira (Norwegian Institute of International Affairs) and Dr. Deepak Nair (Australian National University) are Associate editors of HJD. In 2019, HJD launched its blog with Saskia Postema, Caitlin Read and Clothilde Facon as the editors. [10] The Hague Diplomacy Blog intends to stimulate debate on the diplomatic aspect of international politics [10] Sophie Vériter is the HJD book review editor [11]
In 2020, HJD started its podcast series. [12] The HJD podcast is hosted by Ilen Madhavji [11] It aims at bringing the themes of the journal's research off the page, and onto the discussion table. Each episode features a guest who will share their insights as researcher or practitioner of diplomacy [12]

Leiden University Libraries is a library founded in 1575 in Leiden, Netherlands. Lodewijk Woltjer was an astronomer, and the son of astronomer Jan Woltjer. He studied at the University of Leiden under Jan Oort earning a PhD in astronomy in 1957 with a thesis on the Crab Nebula. This was followed by post-doctoral research appointments to various American universities and the subsequent appointment of professor of theoretical astrophysics and plasma physics in the University of Leiden. From 1964 to 1974 he was Rutherford Professor of Astronomy and Chair of the Astronomy Department at Columbia University in New York. From 1975 to 1987 he was Director General of the European Southern Observatory (ESO), where he initiated the construction of the Very Large Telescope. In 1994–1997 he was President of the International Astronomical Union. Woltjer was honored in 1987 with the Karl Schwarzschild Medal.

Irene J. F. de Jong is a classicist and professor of Ancient Greek at the University of Amsterdam. She is known for her pioneering work on narratology and Ancient Greek literature. She is a Fellow of the British Academy.
Egbert Torenbeek was a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Aerodynamics, Wind Energy, Flight Performance & Propulsion (AWEP) at Delft University of Technology. He is known for his contributions to Aircraft Design, especially with his book "Synthesis of Subsonic Airplane Design" published in 1976. This standard work was also translated into Russian and Chinese. Professor Torenbeek received the 58th Ludwig Prandtl Ring (2016) "in recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements in the field of aircraft design in teaching, research and application" from the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Christine L. Mummery (1953) is an appointed professor of Developmental Biology at Leiden University and the head of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands.

Dr. Rajat Subhra Hazra is an Indian mathematician specialising in probability theory. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, the highest science award in India, for the year 2020 in mathematical science category. He is affiliated to the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University, the Netherlands from 2021. Prior to that he was affiliated to Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Dr. Hazra has a very broad range of research interests including extreme value theory, regular variation, random matrices, free probability, Gaussian free fields, branching random walks, membrane models, random graphs, etc.
Johan Rooryck is a Belgian linguist and a visiting professor at Leiden University where he was Professor of French Linguistics between 1993 and 2020. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Glossa and the former executive editor of Lingua (1999-2015). Rooryck is known for his works on generative grammar. He is the executive director of cOAlition S and is a recipient of Distinguished Lorentz Fellowship (2011/2012).
