Lion of Punjab is an Indian Punjabi action film starring Diljit Dosanjh, making his debut as an actor. [1] It is also the debut Punjabi movie of Bollywood director Guddu Dhanoa. A huge set of a temple, a church, some houses and a shopping area, was erected at the Indian Express Office premises. [2] [3] It is a remake of 2003 Tamil movie Dhool . [4] [5]
The Punjabi remake of this film was released on 11 February 2011. [6] with a music release on 31 January 2011.
The plot revolves around the lead character, Avtar Singh, who leads a fight against a power politician. The battle is a result of the politicians factory polluting the water of a local village, which leads to a rise in cancer cases for the inhabitants of the village.

The album was released on Speed Records [9] in India and digitally around the world by Music Waves.
The lead track on the soundtrack is "Lak Twenty Eight Kudi Da", a collaboration with producer Honey Singh, although the track itself does not feature in the film.
In the UK, "Lak 28 Kudi Da" (as it was re-titled for that market) [10] reached the number-one position on the official Asian Download Chart on 30 April 2011. [11] The track was released by Kamlee Records in the UK [10] despite the soundtrack not being picked up for a physical release in that territory.

Amar Singh Chamkila was an Indian singer and musician of Punjabi music. Chamkila's vivid language, high-pitched vocals, and novel compositions accompanied by tumbi made him popular. His music was influenced by the Punjabi village life in which he grew up. On 8 March 1988, at the height of his popularity, Chamkila and his second wife Amarjot were killed along with two members of their band in an assassination which remains unsolved.

Hirdesh Singh, known professionally as Yo Yo Honey Singh, or simply Honey Singh, is an Indian rapper, singer, music producer and actor. He started in 2003 as a session and recording artist, and became a bhangra, hip hop, and Punjabi music producer. Honey Singh played a significant role in popularizing hip hop in India through his catchy beats, rap style, and fusion of Hindi,Punjabi and English lyrics, appealing to a wide audience. His music brought hip hop into the mainstream and paved the way for other artists to explore the genre.
Jatt & Juliet is an Indian Punjabi-language romantic comedy film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Darshan Singh Grewal and Gunbir Singh Sidhu. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh opposite Neeru Bajwa. It was released to theaters on 29 June 2012. Upon release, the film became a massive blockbuster at the box office and also won multiple awards at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2013 including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress. The film also spawned a sequel the following year, titled Jatt & Juliet 2 featuring most of the same cast and crew. The sequel also broke records at the box office, and ended up becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever. It was remade in Bengali in 2014 as Bangali Babu English Mem.
Jatt & Juliet 2 is a 2013 Indian Punjabi romance comedy film directed by Anurag Singh. The film is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Jatt & Juliet, however not directly or story-wise. Actors Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa reprise their roles from the previous film in the sequel amongst other characters. The film released on 28 June 2013, almost a year after the release of the prequel, and received a positive response at the box office. Jatt & Juliet 2 went on to become the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever, thus beating the record previously held by the first Jatt & Juliet film. Jatt and Juliet 2 is the first ever Punjabi movie to be released on Blu-ray. The movie was remade in Bengali in 2018 as Inspector Notty K.
Disco Singh is a 2014 Punjabi comedy film directed by Anurag Singh and starring Diljit Dosanjh and Surveen Chawla. This is the third collaboration between Singh and Dosanjh after the blockbusters Jatt and Juliet (2012) and Jatt & Juliet 2 (2013). The shooting of Disco Singh began on 19 November 2013 in New Delhi apparently. The film released on 11 April 2014 to excellent box office collections all over Punjab. Despite receiving disastrous reviews from critics, it performed exceptionally well at the box office, breaking several records.

The trailer of the film was released on 18 May 2015. Sardaar Ji is one of the first fantasy films to be made in Punjabi cinema. It released on 26 June 2015, and had the biggest opening ever for a Punjabi film in Punjab.

Ambarsariya is an Indian Punjabi comedy thriller film directed by Mandeep Kumar, written by Dheeraj Rattan and starring Diljit Dosanjh, Monica Gill, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Lauren Gottlieb as the main cast of the film and was released worldwide on 25 March 2016. The movie was remade in Odia in 2018 as Prem Kumar: Salesman of the Year.

The film starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, follows the story of an average man looking for a bride and what happens when he finally marries a girl who thinks marriage is beautiful. Shadaa also features Hardeep Gill, Anita Devgn, and Jagjeet Sandhu in supporting roles.
