The Open Road is an album by John Hiatt, released in 2010 through the record label New West. It is his 21st album. [4] [5]
John Robert Hiatt is an American singer-songwriter. He has played a variety of musical styles on his albums, including new wave, blues, and country. Hiatt has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and has been awarded a variety of other distinctions in the music industry.
Overcoats is singer-songwriter John Hiatt's second album, released in 1975. It is his second and last album for Epic Records.
Slow Turning is singer-songwriter John Hiatt's ninth album, released in 1988. It provided Hiatt's only significant radio hit with the title track. The single "Slow Turning" was also featured in the 2002 motion picture drama The Rookie which starred Dennis Quaid. "Feels Like Rain" was later covered by Buddy Guy on an album of the same name and was featured in the 2004 Kate Hudson movie Raising Helen. Aaron Neville also covered "Feels Like Rain" on his 1991 album "Warm Your Heart". "Drive South" became a No. 2 country hit for Suzy Bogguss in early 1993. "Icy Blue Heart" was covered by Emmylou Harris on her 1989 album Bluebird, with backing vocals by Bonnie Raitt, and was covered later by Linda Ronstadt on her 1998 album We Ran. Ilse DeLange recorded "It'll Come To You"" and "Feels Like Rain" on her live album "Dear John". During the barroom scene in the film "Thelma and Louise", the band is playing "Tennessee Plates".
Perfectly Good Guitar is singer-songwriter John Hiatt's eleventh album, released in 1993. It was his last studio album with A&M Records, despite it being Hiatt's highest charting album in the US (#47), Canada (#34), the UK (#67), the Netherlands (#13), and Sweden (#11). The European edition of the album contains the bonus track "I'll Never Get Over You." Iggy Pop first issued the song "Something Wild" on his 1990 album Brick By Brick.

"It's a Great Day to Be Alive" was originally recorded in 1996 by Jon Randall for an album which was never released. "Best of Intentions" was a Number One hit for him, and his first chart-topper since "Foolish Pride" in 1994. The album is certified Platinum for sales of over 1,000,000.

Little Village is the only studio album by the band Little Village. The band, a super-group comprising Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe and Jim Keltner, released the album, went on a tour of the US and Europe to support it, and disbanded the year of its release. They had previously worked as a group while recording Hiatt's solo album Bring the Family in 1987. Although all songs are credited to all four group members, Hiatt sang all but three, with two sung by Lowe and one by Cooder. "She Runs Hot", "Solar Sex Panel" and "Don't Go Away Mad" were released as singles. The Solar Sex Panel EP contained a new non-album track "Do With Me What You Want to Do" written by Cooder/Hiatt/Keltner/Lowe and sung by Lowe, as well as a cover of the novelty song "Haunted House", originally released by Jumpin' Gene Simmons in 1964, and sung by Cooder. "Do with Me What You Want to Do" was also included as a B-side on the "Don't Go Away Mad" single.
Back to the Grindstone is the twentieth studio album by American country music artist Ronnie Milsap, released on March 12, 1991. The album produced four singles, three of which reached the top ten on the Billboard country singles chart, including "Are You Lovin' Me Like I'm Lovin' You," "Since I Don't Have You," a cover of The Skyliners' 1958 standard and "Turn That Radio On." The fourth single, "All Is Fair in Love and War" peaked at number 11. Milsap produced the album with Rob Galbraith, with further assistance from Richard Landis on "Since I Don't Have You".
