The Very Best is a greatest hits album released by Australian band INXS in 2011. It initially peaked at number 39 in Australia.
Following the screening of INXS: Never Tear Us Apart , an Australian miniseries about INXS that commenced on 9 February 2014 on the Seven Network, [1] the album re-entered the charts, peaking at number one. [2] When the miniseries screened in New Zealand in August 2014, the album also charted, similarly peaking at number one. [3]
The album was released in two formats; a single-disc version and a double-disc version with a DVD. [4] The first disc of the deluxe edition is the same as the standard edition.

The Very Best debuted and peaked at number 39 in Australia on 6 November 2011. When promotion began for the mini-series, it re-entered the charts at number 13 on 10 November 2013. With the airing on the mini-series in February 2014, the album slowly rose to number-one on 17 February 2014. [5] It became the first INXS "best of" album to reach number-one in Australia. [6]
The Very Best took 77 weeks before it reached number-one and holds the record for the longest number of weeks to rise to number one, in ARIA chart history. [7]
The Very Best was the highest selling album in Australia by an Australian artist in 2014 and the fourth overall. [8]

Blue Sky Mining is the seventh studio album by Australian alternative rock band Midnight Oil, released on 9 February 1990 under the Columbia Records label. It received high ratings from critics. In March of that year, the album peaked at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart for two weeks. A limited release of the record featured clear blue vinyl. This was the band's first studio album with bassist and backing vocalist Bones Hillman, who would remain in the group until his death in 2020.
Number Ones is a greatest hits album by American singer Michael Jackson. It was released on November 18, 2003, by Epic Records. Number Ones was Jackson's first standalone compilation album with Epic Records, after the release of the first disc of HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I in 1995. Overall, the album featured a slightly harder-edged sound than their previous releases.
X is the seventh studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released on 25 September 1990 through WEA in Australia, Mercury Records in Europe, and Atlantic Records in the United States and Canada. It is the only INXS single to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also achieved their highest charting position in the United Kingdom, where the song reached number two on the UK Singles Chart; however, this peak was only reached after a re-release of the single in November 1988. On its first run on the UK charts in October 1987, it stalled at No. 58. It was one of the last songs recorded for the album, yet it would arguably become the band's signature song.

Definitive INXS is a compilation of Australian rock band INXS released in 2002. It has almost the same track listing as The Best of INXS. The compilation features most of their hit singles, as well as two previously unreleased tracks, "Salvation Jane" and "Tight". "Salvation Jane" is an outtake taken from the X sessions in 1990. The 2002 remaster of X features the song's original demo. "Tight" was written by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Farriss and recorded by the band during the sessions for Welcome to Wherever You Are in 1992. The song was reworked by the remaining members of INXS in 2002 after the death of vocalist Michael Hutchence in 1997. The compilation also features a cover of Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild", which was specially recorded for the April 1993 launch of Virgin Radio in the UK and was first included on the Japanese release of Full Moon, Dirty Hearts.
