Anime News Network published a feature article authored by The Cartoon Cipher in June 2021, which analyzed in detail the differences between the original 2007 video game, and the first three episodes of the anime adaptation. [21] Kaile Hultner from Polygon found that the anime is helpful as it provides "vital context" delivered in a concise manner for the extensive amount of in-universe terminology employed by the 2021 video game sequel, Neo: The World Ends With You . [22] Alex Lukas from CBR praised the anime adaptation's fluid animation and faithful recreation of the source material's distinctive art style. He criticized the pacing issues of its early episodes, which gave him the impression that it is meant to be little more than a promotional effort for the then-upcoming Neo: The World Ends With You. [23]

Anime Feminist criticized the gory deaths of several of its protagonists for three of them not being enough time to mourn properly, something casual viewers would be confused in general as a result of the pacing in comparison to the original game. [24] Nevertheless, the writers recommended the anime to both casual and gaming fans as a result of how the anime properly develops the characters after such violent episodes. [25]

The World Ends with You is an action role-playing game co-developed by Square Enix and Jupiter for the Nintendo DS. Set in the modern-day Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo, The World Ends with You features a distinctive art style and urban fantasy elements inspired by Shibuya and its youth culture. Development was inspired by elements of Jupiter's previous handheld game, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. It was released in Japan in July 2007, and in PAL regions and North America in April 2008. Later, an enhanced port by h.a.n.d. for mobile devices was released in 2012 under the title The World Ends with You: Solo Remix, while another enhanced port for the Nintendo Switch was released worldwide in 2018 under the title The World Ends with You: Final Remix.

<i>KonoSuba</i> Japanese light novel series and its adaptations

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!, often referred to simply as KonoSuba, is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series follows Kazuma Satou, a boy who is sent to a fantasy world with MMORPG elements following his death, where he forms a dysfunctional adventuring party with a goddess, an archmage, and a crusader. Originally serialized as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between December 2012 and October 2013, KonoSuba was published as a printed light novel series by Kadokawa Shoten under the company's Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint from October 2013 to May 2020. Teasing Master Takagi-san is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto. It started in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine supplement Monthly Shōnen Sunday Mini in June 2013, and later moved to the main magazine, Monthly Shōnen Sunday, in July 2016, and finished in October 2023, with its chapters collected in twenty tankōbon volumes. The series features the daily life of Takagi, who loves to tease her classmate Nishikata, and Nishikata's failed attempts to get back at her. In North America, the manga is licensed by Yen Press.

World Trigger is a Japanese anime series based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara. During Jump Festa '20, it was announced that the series will receive a second season, with the cast reprising their roles. Toei Animation is returning to produce the anime. Morio Hatano is the new series director, while the rest of the staff are reprising their roles. The second season aired on TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block from January 10 to April 4, 2021. The opening theme is "Force" performed by Tomorrow X Together, and the ending theme is "Future Eternity" performed by "Kami wa Saikoro o Furanai" (神はサイコロを振らない).

Neo: The World Ends with You is an action role-playing game co-developed by Square Enix and h.a.n.d. and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to the 2007 video game The World Ends with You. The story features a new cast of characters playing the Reapers' Game in Shibuya and, unlike the original game, features three-dimensional graphics.
