Moses Thembile Klaas is a South African politician who has been a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament since 2023, representing the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Klaas is the deputy provincial chairperson of the EFF in the Western Cape.

Political career

Klaas was a councillor of the Drakenstein Local Municipality, representing the Economic Freedom Fighters. At the EFF's provincial conference in October 2022, Klaas was elected as the deputy provincial chairperson of the party in the Western Cape. [1]

In January 2023, EFF MPPs Melikhaya Xego and Nosipho Makamba-Botya vacated their seats in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament after they unsuccessfully stood for re-election at the party's provincial conference in October 2022. [2] Klaas and EFF provincial treasurer Aishah Cassiem were selected by the party to take up the two vacant seats in the provincial parliament and both were sworn in as members of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament on 3 February 2023. Mmabatho Olive Mokause is a South African politician serving as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces from the Northern Cape since March 2020. She is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Mokause was a Member of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature from May 2014 to April 2015. She was appointed to the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of Parliament, in April 2015 and served in the chamber until January 2018. After the May 2019 general election, she returned to the National Assembly, but resigned in September. In March 2020, she was selected to represent the EFF in the upper house.

Nosipho Makamba-Botya is a South African politician who has served as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa since June 2023, representing the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). She previously served as an EFF councillor in the City of Cape Town and before that as a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament. She became an MPP in May 2019 and served as the party's chief whip. Makamba-Botya was also the deputy chairperson of the EFF in the province.

Sinawo Thambo is a South African politician from the Western Cape. As of 22 October 2020, he is a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa representing the Economic Freedom Fighters. Tambo was the provincial chairperson of the EFF Student Command. In March 2022, he was redeployed to the position on National Spokesperson of the EFF.

Ngwanamakwetle Reneiloe Mashabela is a South African politician from the Economic Freedom Fighters party. She has been a Member of Parliament (MP) in the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2014. Mashabela is a member of the central command team of the EFF.

Sam Zandamela is a South African politician from Mpumalanga who has served as a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since August 2022, and previously from July 2018 to May 2019. Mgcini Tshwaku is a South African politician and member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) who has served as the City of Johannesburg's Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Safety and Security since 2023. Prior to serving as Johannesburg city council, he was a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature between 2014 and 2017 and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2017 until 2023.

Mandisa Makesini is a South African politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of South Africa since February 2023, representing the Economic Freedom Fighters party. She previously served in the Free State Provincial Legislature. Makesini is a former provincial chairperson of the EFF.
