Thirukkuvalai taluk is a taluk in the Nagapattinam district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters is the town of Thirukkuvalai.

Nagapattinam district is a coastal district of Tamil Nadu state in southern India. Nagapattinam district was carved out by bifurcating the erstwhile composite Thanjavur district on October 19, 1991. The town of Nagapattinam is the district headquarters. As of 2011, the district had a population of 1,616,450 with a sex-ratio of 1,025 females for every 1,000 males. It is the only discontiguous district in Tamil Nadu

Thirukkuvalai is a village situated in Nagapattinam district of Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Thirukkuvalai had a population of 60,753 with 30,078 males and 30,675 females. There were 1020 women for every 1000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 71.82. Child population in the age group below 6 was 2,765 Males and 2,713 Females.^[1]
