Thomas Boeh is the deputy athletic director of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Formerly, he served as athletic director at Fresno State University in Fresno, California and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. [1]

Early years

Thomas Boeh received his Bachelor's degree in physical education from Loras College in 1981. While at Loras he was on the cross-country and the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He made the national finals in the outdoor 5,000-meter run. He was inducted into the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021 for in achievements in track and cross-country. After graduating, he was the Loras cross country coach from 1982 through 1984 and was named district coach of the year all three seasons. [2] He earned a Master's degree in athletics administration from University of Illinois in 1988. [1]

Career

While serving as the cross-country coach at Loras he began his career in administrating college athletics working in sports information and marketing and promotions. From 1985 to 1987 he was the director of women's sports information and promotion at the University of Illinois. He left his alma mater for the University of Maine where he served as associate director of athletics for external affairs and then senior associate AD for administration and development. From 1991 to 1995 he worked as the associate director of athletics for external affairs at Northwestern University [1]

Ohio

From 1995 to 2005 he was the athletic director at Ohio. Durung his tenure at Ohio the men's basketball team won the 2005 MAC tournament to qualify for the NCAA tournament. Ohio also won Mid-American Conference championships baseball, cross country, field hockey, soccer, swimming & diving, volleyball and wrestling. During his tenure at Ohio their student-athletes were recognized as All-conferences 192 times, academic all-conference selections 184 times, All-American 28 times, and Academic All-American 25 times. Fresno State

Boeh was the athletic director at Fresno State from 2005 through 2014. Freson State won the Western Athletic Conference commissioner's cup in 2008, 2009 and 2012. Under his leadership Fresno State joined the Mountain West Conference in 2012. During his tenure the football team won Mountain West Conference championships in 2012 and 2013 and played in seven bowl games. Also under his leadership, the 2008 Fresno State baseball won the national championship in the College World Series under coach Mike Batesole. In 2014 the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics honored him as one of four national recipients for the Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year for the FBS. [1] The student-athlete graduation rate rose from 45% to 57% during his tenure. [3] In August of 2014 he was reassigned to a new role as a special assistant to school president. [4]

He served as the head football coach for one season at the University of Missouri in 1957 and at the University of Arkansas from 1958 to 1976, compiling a career coaching record of 149–62–6. Broyles was also the athletic director at Arkansas from 1974 to 2007. His mark of 144–58–5 in 19 seasons at the helm of the Arkansas Razorbacks football gives him the most wins and the most coached games of any head coach in program history. The University of Arkansas student body voted to change the name of the school mascot in 1910 to the Arkansas Razorbacks after a hard-fought battle against LSU in which they were said to play like a "wild band of Razorback hogs" by former coach Hugo Bezdek. The Arkansas Razorbacks are the only major sports team in the U.S. with a porcine nickname, though the Texas A&M–Kingsville Javelinas play in Division II.

John McDonnell was a head coach for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks track team. He began as the cross country and track head coach for the university in 1972 and became head track coach in 1978. McDonnell retired after the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He is considered by many to be the single most successful head coach in collegiate athletics history.

Hocutt formerly held the same position at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio from 2005 to 2008 and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida from 2008 to 2011.

Michael Burnette McGee was an American offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL) who later became a successful college football coach and college athletics administrator. He was an All-American at Duke University and in 1959 won the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's best interior lineman. After playing for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1960 to 1962, he returned as an assistant coach to Duke, and then at the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, before becoming head coach at East Carolina University (1970) and Duke (1971–1978). At East Carolina, he compiled a 3–8 record, and at Duke he compiled a 37–47–4 record. His overall record as a head coach was 40–55–4. His best seasons came in 1971 and 1974, when he went 6–5. He later became athletic director at the University of Cincinnati (1980–1984), the University of Southern California (1984–1993), and the University of South Carolina (1993–2005). McGee was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1990. He died in 2019 at the age of 80.

The Malone Pioneers are athletic teams of Malone University in Canton, Ohio, United States. The Pioneers compete in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Malone joined the G-MAC after four seasons in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) from 2012–13 to 2015–16. Malone joined the GLIAC and Division II in the 2011–12 season and completed the NCAA Division II membership process in July 2013 after having previously competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA); mostly known for its tenure with the now-defunct American Mideast Conference from 1965–66 to 1988–89, and from 1993–94 to 2010–11. Michael J. Thomas is an American university administrator, and the former athletic director at Cleveland State University. Thomas was previously athletic director at the University of Illinois from 2011-2015, University of Cincinnati from 2005-2011, and the University of Akron from 2000-2005. Previously, he served as an associate athletic director at the University of Virginia and the University of Denver, and spent a year at the University of Iowa as an administrative intern.

Dale Reese Sprankle was an American sports coach and athletic director at both Adrian College and Albion College in Michigan. Over the course of his 35-year career, Sprankle won 23 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) conference championships in four sports, making him one of the winningest coaches in that conference's history.

The Indiana State Sycamores are the NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic teams of Indiana State University. Since the 1977–78 academic year, Indiana State has been a member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The Indiana State football team has competed in Division I FCS since the 1982 season, and has been a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) since it was spun off from the Gateway Collegiate Athletic Conference (Gateway) when the latter league merged into the MVC in 1992. Past conference memberships include the Indiana College Athletic League (1895–1922), the Indiana Intercollegiate Conference (1922–1950), the Indiana Collegiate Conference (1950–1968) and the Midwestern Conference (1970–1972). Fernando Cabada Jr. is an American distance runner. He first established himself in the national running scene while in high school when he was ranked among the ten fastest high school boys in the 3200 meters in the United States. Having developed a reputation as an elite prospect, he accepted a scholarship from University of Arkansas, but became disenchanted with school and attended a total of four different colleges before quitting running altogether and pursuing manual labor jobs in the early 2000s. Cabada then returned to competitive running with Virginia Intermont College coach Scott Simmons, who helped Cabada prepare for his 2006 marathon debut in Fukuoka, Japan, which he ran in 2:12:27. Since then, Cabada established himself primarily as a marathoner.

Derrick Gragg is an American college athletics administrator. He is the athletic director at Northwestern University, a position he has held since 2021. He previously spent eight years, 2013 to 2021, as the athletic director at the University of Tulsa, seven years, 2006 to 2013, as the athletic director at Eastern Michigan University, six years, 2000 to 2006, as senior associate athletic director at the University of Arkansas. Gragg played college football at Vanderbilt University, lettering as a wide receiver for the Commodores for four seasons, 1988 to 1991.

Jamey Harris is an American athlete and coach in track and field and cross-country. He is the 1998 USA national champion in the men's 1500 meters and finished fourth in the world in the men's mile at the 1998 Goodwill Games. Jamey Harris is currently Head Coach for Cross Country and Assistant Coach of Track and Field at Humboldt State University.

James Schaus is a retired sports administrator who most recently served as commissioner of the Southern Conference (SoCon). Before taking the SoCon position, he served as athletic director at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.
