This period has been characterised by a more open political-social environment and grassroots economic improvement.

He previously served as governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014 and mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012.

Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly is the former Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia,serving from 2019 to 2024. He is one of the leaders on the central executive board of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle.
Puan Maharani Nakshatra Kusyala Devi is an Indonesian politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P),who is serving as the current speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR),Indonesia's lower house since 2019. She is the first female and the third-youngest person to take the office permanently,being aged 46,when she took the oath of office. She previously served as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs between 2014 and 2019,becoming the first female and the youngest coordinating minister,being only 41 when she took office.
Airlangga Hartarto is an Indonesian politician and businessman. He is the current Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs in President Joko Widodo's Onward Indonesia Cabinet,appointed on 23 October 2019. He was also the chairman of Golkar Party from 2017 to 2024.
Dr. Sofyan A. Djalil,S.H.,M.A.,M.A.L.D. was the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning of Indonesia under President Joko Widodo's 2014–2019 Working Cabinet and the Onward Indonesia Cabinet. He has served as State Minister for State-Owned Enterprises in the United Indonesia Cabinet.
Rachmad Gobel is an Indonesian businessman and politician from Gorontalo. His family controls the company,Gobel Group which is now called PT. Panasonic Gobel Indonesia,an Indonesian division of Panasonic. He is also the former Minister of Trade and the Indonesian President's Special Envoy to Japan. Currently,he is the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Mahendra Siregar is the chief of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Indonesia. He previously served as Deputy Foreign Minister and was formerly the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States. On 25 October 2019,he was appointed as the deputy minister of foreign affairs supporting Indonesian foreign minister Retno Marsudi in the second Jokowi cabinet appointed two days earlier on 23 October. Earlier,he had been appointed as Ambassador to the US by President Joko Widodo in 2018. He took up his post in Washington DC in early 2019. Mahendra is a respected economist in Indonesia who has held various senior positions within the Indonesian bureaucracy.
The Onward Indonesia Cabinet was sworn in on 23 October 2019 by President Joko Widodo. The president reshuffled this cabinet 13 times. The last reshuffle occurred on 11 September 2024.
The Indonesia–Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement is a bilateral agreement signed between Australia and Indonesia in March 2019,ratified by Australia in November 2019 and Indonesia in February 2020. The agreement contains a free trade agreement removing tariffs from nearly all products traded between both countries,in addition to loosening investment regulations in Indonesia for Australian firms and increasing the quota for Indonesians seeking vocational training in Australia.

The Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board was until 2021 a Non-Ministerial Government Body in Indonesia for formulation of government policies in the field of investment,both domestically and abroad. Since 2021,it was elevated into a ministry,the Ministry of Investment.
