Ramsey is a coastal town in the north of the Isle of Man. It is the second largest town on the Island after Douglas. Its population is 8,288 according to the 2021 Census. It has one of the biggest harbours on the Island,and has a prominent derelict pier,called the Queen's Pier. It was formerly one of the main points of communication with Scotland. Ramsey has also been a route for several invasions by the Vikings and Scots.

The Liberal Vannin Party is a political party in the Isle of Man. It was founded in 2006 by Peter Karran,then an Independent MHK for Onchan. Karran had been,until 2004,a member of the Manx Labour Party. The "Vannin" in the party name is a form of the name of the Isle of Man in the native Manx Gaelic language,while "Liberal" is a reference to the general political position of the party. The party is currently led by Lawrie Hooper MHK.

The Department for Enterprise is one of eight departments of the Isle of Man Government. It was created on 1 April 2010 as the Department for Economic Development,largely replacing the former Department of Trade and Industry as well as taking on the tourism function from the former Department of Tourism and Leisure and several other functions from the Isle of Man Treasury and the former Department of Education.

Since 2015,he has been a member of the upper house,the Legislative Council. He served as Chair of the Manx Utilities Authority from 7 March 2023 to 22 November 2023.
Kathleen Joan "Kate" Costain is a Manx politician who is a former Leader of the Liberal Vannin Party and was a Member of the House of Keys for Douglas South from 2011 to 2020. She changed her surname from Beecroft to Costain in 2019.

Alfred Louis Cannan,Member of the House of Keys (MHK),is a Manx politician and independent Member of the House of Keys for Ayre &Michael. He has served as the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man since 12 October 2021. He was previously the Minister for the Treasury.
Robert Howard Quayle is the former chief minister for the Isle of Man,between 4 October 2016 and 12 October 2021. He previously served as the minister for Health and Social Care,until the elections in September 2016.
The COVID-19 pandemic in the Isle of Man is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was confirmed to have reached the British crown dependency of the Isle of Man on 19 March 2020,when a man returning from Spain via Liverpool tested positive. Community transmission was first confirmed on 22 March on the island.
General elections were held in the Isle of Man on 23 September 2021. A record ten women were elected,twice as many as the five elected at the previous election. For the first time,in two constituencies,both elected MHKs were women. Four government ministers failed to be re-elected.
Alexander John Allinson is an English-born Manx physician and politician who serves as an independent member of the House of Keys,representing Ramsey since 2016. Allinson serves on the Council of Ministers as the current Minister for the Treasury,having been appointed to the role in May 2022 by Alfred Cannan,the chief minister of the Isle of Man.
