Times2 STEM Academy is a charter school in Providence, Rhode Island that specializes in teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The elementary, middle school and high school (grades K–12) was established in 1998. It uses standards-based instruction and computer technology to teach science and mathematics. Algebra I and general science are taught to eighth grade students.
High school students are introduced to project-based learning – for example at the laboratory sciences at Providence College, a lead higher education partner. Seniors undertake internships in engineering, math, science, technology, and enrichment courses at local colleges and universities.
The current[ when? ] elementary principal is Glenn Piros who joined in August 2013. He replaced Tom Lombardi who had replaced Antonio DiManna, who was principal until June 2011. The current executive director is Dr. Rudy Moseley, who joined in October 2015.
Students are taught using practices such as student-generated projects, enrichment initiatives,[ clarification needed ] multiple assessments, and university and business partnerships.
Times2 STEM Academy uses the New Standards[ clarification needed ] for curriculum development and implementation in its core subject areas. By using literacy and writing across all curricular areas, teachers build a foundation of learning that supports the school's program.[ citation needed ]
To assist the middle and upper school in identifying those competencies and qualities that are crucial for students to realize the school's mission, the administration and Board of Directors approved a K–5 Children's Academy. It is the feeder school to the middle and upper school.
The curriculum used in grades K–3 (and eventually K–5) and the middle and upper school emphasizes standards-based skills. Math Investigations teach students to integrate literacy skills with mathematics competencies.[ clarification needed ]
Middle and high school teachers use the University of Chicago Math Project to develop modules that assist students in grades 6–12 to move through a mathematics sequence that culminates with AP Calculus in the 12th grade.
The science curriculum follows the standards established by the National Science Foundation. Using research to direct its decision, the Academy's Science Committee inverted its curriculum offerings where conceptual physics is offered to 9th graders, chemistry to sophomores, biology to juniors, and AP Physics to seniors.[ clarification needed ]
Grades 9–12 are given formally scheduled after-school enrichment courses and activities, and Saturday Academics. These include Web Club, Robotics, Tech Club, ACE Program, Aviation Club, Chess Club, Mock Trial, Yearbook, Studio Productions, Science Olympiad, and computer technology mini-courses such as Flowcharting, HTML, and Sketch Pad. Also, through work with scientists and experts in their field, students get a better understanding of what skills are needed and invested in certain careers.[ citation needed ]
Most after-school activities take place on Tuesday to Thursday afternoons. On Fridays, field trips, workshops, movies, or social events take place.
Founded in 1920, The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is a professional organization for schoolteachers of mathematics in the United States. One of its goals is to improve the standards of mathematics in education. NCTM holds annual national and regional conferences for teachers and publishes five journals.
Oak Hill Academy is a coeducational, nonsectarian private day school located in Lincroft, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. Oak Hill Academy was founded in September 1981 by educator Joseph A. Pacelli. The school is academically rigorous and boasts advanced courses in mathematics and Latin. Oak Hill has swimming as a mandatory part of the physical education program.

Biotechnology High School (BTHS), or commonly referred to as Biotech, is a four-year comprehensive vocational public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Freehold Township, Monmouth County, United States, as part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD). Its curriculum includes a science program, consisting of eight different science classes spread over four years, designed to prepare students to pursue further education in biotechnology and the natural sciences. Emphasis is placed on research, laboratory skills, critical thinking, problem solving, technology, and teamwork. Over 90% of the 2009 graduates selected college majors in the life sciences. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2005.
The Union County Academy for Information Technology (UC-AIT) is a full-time four-year public high school located in Scotch Plains, in Union County, New Jersey, United States, on the Union County Vocational Technical Schools Campus. The school is part of the Union County Vocational Technical Schools (UCVTS), which serves students in all of Union County. Mathematics education in the United States varies considerably from one state to the next, and even within a single state. However, with the adoption of the Common Core Standards in most states and the District of Columbia, mathematics content across the country is moving into closer agreement for each grade level. The SAT, a standardized university entrance exam, has been reformed to better reflect the contents of the Common Core. However, many students take alternatives to the traditional pathways, including accelerated tracks. As of 2023, twenty-seven states require students to pass three math courses before graduation from high school, but seventeen states and the District of Columbia require four.

Waxahachie Global High School is a high school in Waxahachie, Texas, founded in 2007 on the historic T.C. Wilemon campus. It is one of only 91 STEM academies in the state of Texas. It was additionally granted Early College High School status in 2009 through a partnership with Navarro College, allowing students to earn an associate degree along with their high school diploma. Recently, as of the start of the 2013-2014 school year, Global High made a partnership with UT Tyler for all the STEM-based college courses offered at Global. As a public charter school, students from Ellis County and surrounding areas can attend regardless of zoning. Many students commute from surrounding cities such as Waxahachie, Red Oak, Ennis, Maypearl, Midlothian, Palmer, Italy, Cedar Hill, and Desoto. In 2014, Waxahachie Global was named the "Best High School" by the U.S. News & World Report. Starting in the 2018-19 school year, the Global campus is located in the Billy R. Hancock Building.
Tesla STEM High School is a magnet high school in Redmond, Washington operated by the Lake Washington School District. It serves as a lottery-selected choice program and offers a STEM-based curriculum.

C-STEM is a UC Approved Educational Preparation Program for Undergraduate Admission for all UC campuses, meaning that participation in the C-STEM program is recognized in the UC admissions process as achievements that have explicitly prepared students for college and career. C-STEM has University of California A-G Program Status. High schools can easily add the A-G approved rigorous C-STEM curriculum to their own school’s A-G course lists to satisfy the UC/CSU admission requirements.
