Timiskaming District District in Ontario, Canada

Timiskaming is a district and census division in Northeastern Ontario in the Canadian province of Ontario. The district was created in 1912 from parts of Algoma, Nipissing, and Sudbury districts. In 1921, Cochrane District was created from parts of this district and parts of Thunder Bay District.

Across the region, Doug Shearer and Bill Brookfield were elected as school trustees on District School Board Ontario North East, Martin Drainville, Rick Brassard and Steve Malciw were elected to the Northeastern Catholic District School Board and Roger Brazeau was elected to the Conseil scolaire de district du Nord-Est de l'Ontario. District School Board Ontario North East

District School Board Ontario North East is an Ontario English public school board serving Northeastern Ontario from Hearst to Temagami. It covers an extensive area of 25,000 square kilometres. Their corporate slogan is, "The best that education has to offer." The corporate office is located in Schumacher at 153 Croatia Avenue and a secondary office is located in New Liskeard at 198022 River Road.

The Northeastern Catholic District School Board is a separate (Catholic) school board in the Canadian province of Ontario, with jurisdiction for the operation of schools in Cochrane and Timiskaming Districts.

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario manages the French-language schools in the north-east region of Ontario. The area in which this school board operates covers 46,714 km2 (18,036 sq mi) of Ontario.

Judy Pace, the incumbent mayor of Temiskaming Shores, did not run for re-election. [6] The election was won by Carman Kidd, a former reeve of Dymond Township prior to the municipal amalgamation of 2004. [6] Doug Jelly, Mike McArthur, Bryan Thornton, Danny Whalen, Bob Hobbs and Jamie Morrow were elected to council.

2010 Alberta municipal elections

Municipal elections were held in Alberta, Canada on Monday, October 18, 2010. Since 1968, provincial legislation has required every municipality to hold triennial elections. Mayors (reeves), councillors (aldermen), and trustees were elected to office in 16 of the 17 cities, all 108 towns, all 95 villages, all 5 specialized municipalities, all 64 municipal districts, 3 of the 7 improvement districts, and the advisory councils of the 3 special areas.
