Tmesisternus villaris is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Francis Polkinghorne Pascoe in 1867. It is known from Papua New Guinea. [1]

The Gurian Republic was an insurgent community that existed between 1902 and 1906 in the western Georgian region of Guria in the Russian Empire. It rose from a revolt over land grazing rights in 1902. Several issues over the previous decades affecting the peasant population including taxation, land ownership and economic factors also factored into the start of the insurrection. The revolt gained further traction through the efforts of Georgian social democrats, despite some reservations within their party over supporting a peasant movement, and grew further during the 1905 Russian Revolution.
The Armenian–Tatar massacres was the bloody inter-ethnic confrontation between Armenians and Caucasian Tatars throughout the Russian Caucasus in 1905–1907. The massacres started during the Russian Revolution of 1905. The most violent clashes occurred in 1905 in February in Baku, in May in Nakhchivan, in August in Shusha and in November in Elizabethpol, heavily damaging the cities and the Baku oilfields. Some violence, although of lesser scale, broke out also in Tiflis.

Luigi Villari (1876–1959), son of Pasquale Villari and Linda White Mazini Villari, was an Italian historian, traveler and diplomat. He worked in the Italian Foreign Office and was later a newspaper correspondent. Villari served as Italy's Vice-Consul in three American cities: New Orleans (1906), Philadelphia (1907) and Boston (1907–10). He devoted most of his life to the study of international problems, more especially to the relations between Italy and the English-speaking countries. He also authored numerous books and travelogues including those dedicated to his travels in the late Russian Empire.
