Thomas David Reed (born 29 January 1986) is a British judoka. [1]
He began his training at Devizes judo club before joining Team Bath's High-Performance Training Programme in 2003, aged 16. [2] In 2006, following a gap year, in which he trained at Tokai University in Japan, he began a degree in Business Administration at the University of Bath. [2] The same year, coached by Jurgan Klinger, [2] he won bronze in the European under 23 Judo Championships in Moscow. [3]
He followed this up in 2007 with a silver at the European under 23 Judo Championships in Salzburg and became champion of Great Britain, winning the half-middleweight division at the British Judo Championships. [4] [2] [3] Following his uncle in becoming a GB judo player, [2] in the following years, Reed placed or medalled in numerous international tournaments and European Cup events, including winning gold medals in the English, Welsh and Scottish opens, a gold in the Swedish open and a silver medal in the London European Cup (British Open) [3] [2]
In 2012, he won his second British national championship [4] [3] but missed out on a place in the London 2012 Olympics to the more experienced Euan Burton. Reed had previously lost a match to Burton in the final of the 2009 GB World Cup in Birmingham. [3] [5]
He competed for England in the men's 81 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games [6] where he won a silver medal, losing to fellow England international Owen Livesey. [7] [8]
His efforts to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games were thwarted by a major elbow injury. [9] In an interview, Reed stated that his elbow was "getting arthritic and bone fragments had moved into muscle areas". [10] In a December 2015 interview with the BBC, Reed stated that though the required surgery was expected to be relatively straight forward and the recovery was only expected to take six weeks, he was still unsure when it would take place. "The big question is when I get that surgery. I'm on a waiting list and have been waiting six months. Now it looks like after Christmas. That will only get me three or four tournaments left in the Olympic qualification [period]." [9]
This proved to be the case and Reed was left needing 300 points from two remaining tournaments after only managing a 7th place finish in the 2016 African Open. [10] He retired from the sport after failing to qualify shortly thereafter. [11]
David Colin (Colon) StarbrookMBE is a British retired judoka. Between 1972 and 1976 he won two silver and five bronze medals at the Olympic Games, world and European championships. Starbrook has 4 children: Joanne, Sam, Leon, and Emily.
Karina Bryant is a British retired elite judoka, who was active in elite senior competition in the 2000's and early 2010's. She represented Great Britain at four successive Olympics between 2000 and 2012, winning her first Olympic medal, a bronze, in the heavyweight event at her final Games, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She was a seven-time medallist at both the European Judo Championships and the World Judo Championships, and was European Champion on four occasions.
Riki Nakaya is a Japanese judoka. He is a two-time lightweight world champion and an Olympic silver medalist. He was also a finalist at the 2015 World Championships.
Alice Schlesinger is an Israeli-British retired judoka and sambo competitor. Born in Israel, she competed for that country until 2014, but following a dispute with the national federation she has started competing for Great Britain, of whom she is a citizen through her English-born mother.

Elmar Gasimov is an Azerbaijani judoka, who competes in the -100 kg division. He has competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and won a silver medal in 2016. He has also won a bronze at the 2017 World Championships, and a silver (2014) and two bronze medals at European level.
Rustam Orujov is an Azerbaijani retired judoka. He competed in the men's 73 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics; after defeating Gideon van Zyl in the second round, he was eliminated by Mansur Isaev in the third round. He won the silver medal in the men's 73 kg event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
James Austin is an English judoka, who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Ashley McKenzie is an England-born Jamaican judoka competing at the men's 60 kg division. He was a member of the Great Britain Olympic Judo Team at London 2012 but was defeated in the second round by Hiroaki Hiraoka of Japan. He also appeared in, and made it to the final of Celebrity Big Brother 10 in September 2012. In August 2018, he appeared on the first series of Celebs on the Farm. In January 2020, he appeared on Celebrity Ex on the Beach.

Or "Ori" Sasson is a retired Israeli Olympic judoka. He won a bronze medal in the +100 kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics and another one at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He is the second of two Israelis to win two Olympic medals.

Saeid Mollaei was born on January 5, 1992, in Tehran to ethnic Azerbaijani parents originally from Khoy. In 2001, at the age of 10, he entered the Persian Gulf Judo School by Dr. Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, a judo instructor. Iranian authorities ordered Mollaei to intentionally lose in the semi-final at the Tokyo 2019 World Championships, so as to avoid a potential match in the finals against Israeli 2019 world champion Sagi Muki. In August 2019, he moved to Europe with a two-year visa from Germany, saying he was afraid to return to Iran after exposing and criticizing its pressure on him to deliberately lose in the World Championships. In December 2019, he became a citizen of Mongolia. He dedicated his 2020 Olympic medal to Mongolia and Mongol People and to Israel. From May 2022 on, Mollaei represents Azerbaijan.

Hidayet Heydarov is an Azerbaijani judoka who won a gold medal at the 2017 European Judo Championships. He defeated his teammate Rustam Orujov at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games final.

Elliot Stewart is a British Paralympic judoka. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics, he won a silver medal in the men's 90 kg event.
Boubekeur Rebahi is an Algerian, male Judo player, who played in both local and international championships. He played in Tunisia, Oran, Morocco and Belgium. He weighs 66 kg. It should be remembered that Algeria was tagged the most successful nation for African Judo Championships in 2022. Prior to that in 2021, Algerian Judo player named Fethi Nourine was banned for 10 years from competition by the International Judo Federation with his coach, Amar Benikhlef receiving 10 years ban, as well when they withdrew from facing an Israeli opponent in the second round of men's competition at the Boudakan. The duo revealed that they pulled out from the competition in support for the Palestinians.
