Tommee James Profitt (born November 12, 1984) is an American songwriter and record producer. [1]
Profitt is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. [2] He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2017 to continue his music career. [3] He has worked on the production and sound development of rapper NF. In later years, he has also worked in film and television music. [4]
Profitt's music has been featured in 24 , Legacies , Quantico , The Good Doctor , Prison Break , The Rookie , America's Got Talent , Empire , Bones , The Handmaid's Tale , The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 , NFL, TYR Sport, and others. Profitt is known for his production work with American rapper NF. [12] The two met in Michigan while NF was starting out as a rapper and Profitt was transitioning from being a full-time artist to a producer. Profitt signed his publishing deal with Capitol CMG Publishing in 2014, the same year that NF signed to Capitol Christian Music Group as an artist. [13] They have continued to be frequent collaborators, with Profitt collaborating on the writing and production on NF's four full-length releases that have been released under Capitol CMG. [12] [14]
The first album, Mansion , debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and peaked at No. 62 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. [15] The second album, Therapy Session , also debuted at No. 1 on the Christian Albums Chart [16] and peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. [15] NF's third studio album, Perception , debuted at No. 1 overall on the Billboard 200; [17] his fourth studio album, The Search , did so too. Hillsong United is a worship collective that originated as a part of Hillsong Church. Formed in 1998 as part of Hillsong's youth ministry, the band consists of several rotating worship leaders from the church, including Joel Houston, Taya Smith-Gaukrodger, Matt Crocker, Jonathon Douglass, Brooke Fraser, Jad Gillies and Benjamin Hastings. Due to several songs written by the youth ministry, Hillsong Worship leader Darlene Zschech recommended that they record an album, which resulted in their debut extended play, One, which was released alongside the Hillsong Worship album Touching Heaven Changing Earth. Since then, the group has released fourteen live albums, as well as five studio albums. The band composes songs and performs in church services as well as concerts on worldwide tours.
Social Club Misfits, known as Social Club from 2012 until 2016, is a Christian hip hop duo from Miami, Florida made up of rappers FERN and Marty Mar. They formed their musical partnership in 2011 and released their first free album, entitled Misfits, on November 27, 2012. Then, the duo released two EPs entitled Misfits-EP, released on March 26, 2013, and Rejects. on April 2, 2013. The latter garnering some charting success. The third free album from the duo came out on September 13, 2013, entitled Summer of George. Their breakthrough album, Misfits 2, was self-released on April 29, 2014, and Us was released on March 24, 2015.
