Tommy Head

Tommy Head (born June 4, 1945 in Robertson County, Tennessee) is a Tennessee Democratic politician and a former member of that state's House of Representatives. [1] He is also a farmer and a utility contractor.

Head is a 1965 graduate of Cumberland College in Lebanon, Tennessee with an associate's degree, and a 1967 graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He taught high school and coached basketball for two years after his university graduation. He is the brother of legendary women's basketball coach Pat Head Summitt.

In 1986, Head was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives and served nine terms until being defeated for reelection in 2004. He served District 68. While in the House he served as the chairman of several subcommittees and the vice-chairman of several committees, mostly those dealing with finance. He was regarded as one of the chamber's most powerful Middle Tennessee-based members at one point.

The Winfield Dunn Center is a 132,000-square-foot (12,300 m2) facility, located on the main campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Construction began on the (then) $5.3 million facility in 1973, and the building opened in 1975. It is home to the Austin Peay Governors men's and women's basketball teams through the 2022–23 season, and will continue to be home to Peay's women's volleyball team after the basketball teams move. It also serves as an indoor practice facility for the baseball, softball, and track and field teams. It also houses the athletics department's weight room and the David P. Roe Academic Services Center which was named for alumnus Phil Roe. The building was named for the governor of Tennessee at the time of its construction.

The Austin Peay Governors men's basketball team represents Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Governors play in the ASUN Conference starting in 2022–23, following 61 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference. The team's most recent appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament to date was in 2016, making the field of 68 by virtue of having won the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball tournament. The Governors' head coach is Nate James.

William "Sammy" Stuard Jr. is the CEO and President of F&M Bank, which has its headquarters in Clarksville, Tennessee, and has current assets of over $1.2. He is also a past Chairman of the Tennessee Bankers Association. Stuard received the 2020 Wendell H Gilbert Award from Austin Peay State University. [In 2007, Stuard was named "Community Banker of the Year" by the American Banker Magazine. He currently serves on the FHLB of Cincinnati, Clarksville Regional Airport Authority Board of Directors and the ASPIRE Foundation. Stuard has also held a number of government and civic positions, which include serving as a past Montgomery County, TN Commissioner, past chairman of the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, and the Clarksville Economic Development Council.

The 2021–22 Austin Peay Governors men's basketball team represented Austin Peay State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Governors, led by first-year head coach Nate James, played their home games at the Winfield Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). They finished the season 12–17, 8–10 in OVC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. As the No. 6 seed in the OVC tournament, they lost to Tennessee Tech in the first round.

The 2022–23 Austin Peay Governors basketball team represents Austin Peay State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Governors, led by second-year head coach Nate James, play their home games at the Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee as first-year members of the ASUN Conference.
