The Toronto Global Forum (TGF) is an annual economic event organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas since 2007. [1]

Mission

The Toronto Global Forum is a not-for-profit organization presenting annual conferences on national and global economic issues. [2] The TGF mission is to promote open debate and dialogues on national and international issues. Each year, the event welcomes heads of state, Fortune 500 CEOs, international organizations, central bank governors, global economic decision makers and civil society representatives, etc. to foster free discussion between world leaders. [3] The forum brings together more than 2,800 people from across the globe every year. [4]

The forum also provide a platform to facilitate meetings between key world leaders in order to encourage global discourse.

An additional goal of the forum is to provide opportunities for business meetings aimed at promoting partnerships among major Canadian and international corporations. [5] In 2017 there were panel discussions dedicated to Canada's business advantages. [6]

The International Economic Forum of the Americas hosts two other annual events: the Conference of Montreal (founded in 1995), as well as the World Strategic Forum, held in Miami (founded in 2011). [7]

Schulich School of Business Canadian business school in Toronto

The Schulich School of Business is the business school of York University located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The institution provides undergraduate and graduate degree and diploma programs in business administration, finance, accounting, business analytics, public administration and international business as well as a number of PhD and executive programs. Originally known as the Faculty of Administrative Studies (FAS), it was renamed in 1995 after Seymour Schulich, a major benefactor who has donated $15 million to the school. Although the Schulich School of Business is a Faculty of York University, it operates under a separate budget. The Dean of the School, Detlev Zwick, was appointed in 2021 after having served as Interim Dean for 15 months.

Paul Desmarais Jr. is a Canadian businessman and philanthropist. He has been the chairman and co-CEO of Power Corporation of Canada since 1996.

Lawrence M. Tanenbaum is a Canadian businessman and chairman of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE). He owns a 25% stake in MLSE through his holding company Kilmer Sports Inc.

Børge Brende Norwegian politician and diplomat

Børge Brende is a Norwegian politician and diplomat, and has been the president of the World Economic Forum since 2017. A member of the Conservative Party, he previously was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017, Minister of the Environment from 2001 to 2004 and Minister of Trade and Industry from 2004 to 2005. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from 1997 to 2009.

Allan Richard Taylor, is a Canadian banker. Taylor joined the Royal Bank of Canada as a clerk in his hometown at the age of sixteen. He rose to become the chairman and CEO of the bank, serving in that capacity from 1986 until 1995.

Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF) is a forum held annually since 1999 during winter in the city of Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia. It has become the region's Middle East strategic think tank focusing on regional and international economic and social issues. The Jeddah Economic Forum is organized by the Jeddah Marketing Board, which is a part of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Hassan Abdalla Egyptian financier (born 1960)

Hassan Abdalla - حسن عبد الله; is an Egyptian financier. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB), a regional financial services institution. Established by a special law as a joint venture between the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), AAIB was Egypt's first Arab multinational bank.

International Economic Forum of the Americas

The International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA), is an international not-for-profit organization headquartered in Canada, with offices in Montreal, Toronto, Miami and Paris. The IEFA was created in 1995 to promote an exchange of views and perspectives on pressing economic issues of our times among world leaders, renowned experts and business executives. It organizes several high-level conferences per year and has grown to become a landmark organization bringing together more than 10,000 speakers and 600 speakers every year.

World Strategic Forum

The World Strategic Forum is an annual economic event organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas since 2011.

Conference of Montreal

The Conference of Montreal is an annual economic event organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA) since 1995.

2015 Bilderberg Conference

The 2015 Bilderberg Conference took place between 11 and 14 June 2015 at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol in Telfs-Buchen, Austria. The hotel had previously held the Bilderberg Conference in 1988.

The Bilderberg Conference 2012 took place from May 30 - June 3, 2012 and was held in Westfields Marriott Hotel, Chantilly, Virginia, United States. Previous conferences had already held been there, in 2002 and 2008. Haifa in Israel had previously been proposed as a possible venue for 2012.

The Bilderberg Conference 2011 took place at June 9–12, 2011, and were held in Sankt Moritz, Switzerland at the Suvretta House.
