Torstein Dahle (born 20 February 1947) is a Norwegian politician and economist. He works at the Bergen University College and represents Red Party in the city council of Bergen. Dahle was born in Oslo.
At age 14,Dahle joined Lambertseter Youth Conservatives (Unge Høyre). He attended Oslo Cathedral School and Oslo Commerce School. [1] After moving to Bergen in 1966,he moved to the far left and co-founded the Maoist group AKP(m-l) in the early 1970s. He remained in the party until 1997.
From 2003 to 2007,Dahle led the AKP(m-l)-initiated Red Electoral Alliance,which he had also helped establish. He continued to lead the Red Party,a 2007 merger of AKP(m-l) and the Red Electoral Alliance. In 2010,he was succeeded as Red Party leader by Turid Thomassen.

The Workers' Communist Party was a Norwegian communist party (1973–2007). AKP was a Maoist party and one of two communist parties in Norway;the other was the older Communist Party of Norway which had remained pro-Soviet. The relationship between the two parties was characterized by strong hostility.
The Fatherland Party was a political party in Norway,which was founded by former local Progress Party politician Harald Trefall in 1990. Primarily based in Western Norway,the party supported nationalist positions such as opposition to immigration and the European Union. It got two representatives elected to public office in the 1991 local elections,in a county and municipal council respectively. The party never won representation since,and was dissolved in 2008 after years of electoral inactivity.
Erling Folkvord was a Norwegian politician for the Red Party and a member of the Parliament of Norway. A revolutionary socialist,he was one of the leading members of the Workers' Communist Party and the Red Electoral Alliance before they merged to form Red. He sat as a member of the Parliament of Norway from 1993 to 1997,becoming the first socialist to the left of the Socialist Left Party and the Labour Party in parliament since 1961. He later lost his position in 1997 and was a candidate for parliament until his death. He was a member of the Oslo City Council from 1983 to 1993,and again from 1999 to 2011. Folkvord became one of the best-known Norwegian politicians on the left who was not connected with the Labour Party and the Socialist Left Party.
Knut Nærum is a Norwegian comedian,author,comics writer and TV entertainer. He is best known for being one of the permanent panelists in the Norwegian show Nytt pånytt. On 23 April 2015,Nærum announced that he would step down from the show at the end of the season. Nærum was born in Arendal,but grew up in Halden,and attended high school in Grimstad. He later studied at the Agder Regional College and currently lives in Oslo with his wife and two children.
The Red Party is a socialist political party in Norway. It was founded in March 2007 by a merger of the Red Electoral Alliance and the Workers' Communist Party. A Marxist party,it has been described as left-wing and far-left on the political spectrum. In its political programme,the Red Party sets the creation of a classless society to be its ultimate goal,which the party says is "what Karl Marx called communism". The party's other goals are replacing capitalism with socialism,an expansive public sector and nationalisation of large enterprises. It strongly opposes Norway becoming a member of the European Union.

Aslak Sira Myhre is a Norwegian culture administrator. Since 2014 he is director of the National Library of Norway. Myhre has been a leftwing politician,and was for a period leader of the former party Red Electoral Alliance (RV). In the local election in Oslo in 2015 he was listed for Red,the party succeeding Red Electoral Alliance since 2007,however not on top,and he did not get a seat.

Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 13 and 14 September 2009. Elections in Norway are held on a Monday in September,usually the second or third Monday,as determined by the king. Early voting was possible between 10 August and 11 September 2009,while some municipalities also held open voting on 13 September. Voters elected 169 members for the Storting,each for a four-year term. Voter turn-out in the 2009 general elections was 76.4%.
Pål Steigan is a Norwegian writer and politician,best known as founder of the newspaper Klassekampen and the website Steigan.no. He was leader of the Maoist Workers' Communist Party,AKP (m-l) from 1975 to 1984,and co-leader of the Red Electoral Alliance (RV) until 1979. Both parties were small fringe parties that were never represented in parliament during his tenure. He co-founded Klassekampen as a monthly periodical in 1969,and during his leadership AKP developed the periodical into a newspaper in 1977. He later founded the alternative news website Steigan.no that is described by mainstream Norwegian media as a platform of Russian propaganda,conspiracy theories,racism and transphobia.
Gunnar Garbo was a Norwegian journalist,politician,and ambassador. He represented the Liberal Party of Norway at the Norwegian Parliament during four electoral periods,from 1958 to 1973,and was leader for the party from 1964 to 1970. He was ambassador in Dar es Salaam from 1987 to 1992.

Bjørnar Moxnes is a Norwegian politician and activist representing the left-wing political party,the Red Party in the Storting. Moxnes opposes the European Union,characterizing Norway's participation in the EEA as undemocratic. Moxnes describes himself as a socialist. He served as the leader of the Red Party from 2012 to 2023,when he resigned in the wake of stealing a pair of sunglasses from a shop at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Moxnes had previously served as the party's deputy leader from 2010 to 2012.
