Chongjin Tram is a public tram system in Chongjin,Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). The line opened in 1999. There is currently one line in operation. [2]
The regular operation on the standard gauge tram line started on 2 July 1999. It was initially six kilometers long and was extended in a later by seven kilometers. Allegedly,according to Choson Sinbo,there were plans to extend the line to Chongjin station with a planned opening date of October 2002,though this is not corroborated elsewhere. [3]
Chongjin tram uses a number of locally produced single car trams and a single articulated tram. All vehicles are produced by Chongjin Bus Factory. [2] These single trams bear an extreme resemblance to the Tatra T6B5,but have one more window per side and no resistor equipment on roof. The articulated tram rather appears like a Tatra KT8D5 without the middle section.

Rail transport in Okinawa consists of only the Okinawa Urban Monorail,the only rail line providing rail transportation in Okinawa Prefecture. In the past,Okinawa Island had railroad,trams,and horse-drawn streetcar service. Moreover,Minamidaitōjima and other islands had rail lines to transport sugarcane and other commodities.
The HokusōLine is a commuter rail line operated by the third-sector HokusōRailway in Japan. It runs between Keisei-Takasago Station in Katsushika,Tokyo and Inba-Nihon-Idai Station in Inzai,Chiba. It is part of the primary Keisei route between central Tokyo and Narita International Airport through the Narita Sky Access Line. It uses the ATS Type 1 system. The line's name is derived from its route through the former Shimōsa Province,which is also known as "Hokusō".
The ToyamakōLine is a tram line operated by Toyama ChihōRailway in the city of Toyama,the capital of Toyama Prefecture. Trams commences at Toyamaeki,beneath Toyama Station,and travels north to Iwasehama in a town of the Toyama Port on Sea of Japan.
Pyongyang Tram is a public tram system in Pyongyang,the capital of the North Korea. The first line of the current system opened in 1989. There are currently four lines in operation.
The Toyama ChihōRailway is a transportation company in Toyama,Toyama Prefecture,Japan. The company is commonly known as Chitetsu (地鉄). This private company operates railway,tram,and bus services in the eastern part of the prefecture. It also operates as the agency of All Nippon Airways in Toyama area. The company has its root in Toyama Electric Railway founded in 1930. The current company was founded in 1943,when all the private and public operators of railway,tram,and bus lines in the prefecture were merged into one. In 1950,it founded KaetsunōRailway,planning to build the railway line that links Toyama and Ishikawa. Chitetsu handed over its networks in the western part of Toyama Prefecture,although the plan never came to fruition.
The Yokkaichi Asunarou Railway Hachiōji Line is a 762 mm narrow gauge railway line operated by the Japanese private railway company Yokkaichi Asunarou Railway,connecting Hinaga Station and Nishihino Station,both in the city of Yokkaichi,Mie,Japan. It extends for a total length of 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi).
The Aichi Loop Line is a Japanese railway line connecting Okazaki Station in Okazaki and Kōzōji Station in Kasugai,operated by the Aichi Loop Railway. The company or the line is abbreviated as Aikan (愛環). This is the only line the company operates. Despite its name,the line is not a true loop,but a north-south line situated east of Nagoya,which can be considered as an unclosed loop.
The ChikuhōElectric Railroad Line is a railway line in Fukuoka Prefecture,Japan,connecting Kurosaki-Ekimae in Kitakyushu with Chikuhō-Nōgata Station in Nōgata,operated by ChikuhōElectric Railroad. The line does not have an official name. The company and the line is also called Chikutetsu (筑鉄). The company is a subsidiary of Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu),founded in 1951. The line originally had a through service with the Nishitetsu Kitakyushu Line,a tram line closed in 2000. Because of this,the Chikutetsu Line only uses tram vehicles. However,the line is legally classified as a railway under Railway Business Act,not a tramway under Tram Act,and the line does not share any segments with public roads.
The Akita Rinkai Railway Line was a Japanese freight-only railway line between Akita KitakōFreight Terminal and Mukaihama Freight Terminal via Akita Port (Akitakō) Station,all within Akita,Akita. This was the only railway line Akita Rinkai Railway operated. The third sector company was founded in 1970. The services on the line were divided by AkitakōStation. The north part was commonly called the North Line,and the south part was called the South Line. The North Line mainly transported containers of paper products from Nippon Daishōwa Paperboard Tōhoku,while the South Line transported sulfuric acid from Kosaka Smelting &Refining,via the Kosaka Line.
Trams and trolleybuses in North Korea are forms of public transportation for North Koreans to travel around in urban centres given the shortages on fuel and access to cars for average citizens.
The Vinnytsia Tramway network is the part of the public transportation system that since 1913 serves Vinnytsia,the administrative center of the Vinnytsia Oblast,Ukraine. The tram system has a narrow rail gauge of 1,000 mm that only exists in Ukraine in the cities of Lviv,Zhytomyr and Yevpatoria,as well as Vinnytsia. The system currently consists of 21.2 km of tracks.

The Kim Chong-t'ae Electric Locomotive Works (Korean: 김종태전기기관차연합기업소) in P'yŏngyang is North Korea's largest manufacturer of railway equipment. Established in November 1945 in Sŏsŏng-guyŏk,P'yŏngyang near the P'yŏngyang Railway University and the Korean State Railway's West P'yŏngyang Station,the factory manufactures and overhauls electric and diesel locomotives,passenger cars,streetcars and subway trainsets. It is subordinate to the North Korean Ministry of Railways.
The Toyama City Tram Line of Toyama ChihōRailway,commonly referred to as 市電,is a narrow gauge tram system in Toyama,Japan. Its first operation was in 1912. It has 23 stations and runs 7.3 km.
Segil station is a railway station in Segil-dong,Wŏnsan Municipal City,Kangwŏn province,North Korea,on Songdowŏn Line of the Korean State Railway. The Songdowŏn Line runs to Wŏnsan,where it connects to the Kangwŏn Line.
The Korean State Railway (Kukch'ŏl) operates a wide variety of electric,diesel and steam locomotives,along with a variety of electric multiple unit passenger trains. Kukch'ŏl's motive power has been obtained from various sources. Much,mostly steam and Japanese-made electric locomotives,was inherited from the Chosen Government Railway,the South Manchuria Railway (Mantetsu) and various privately owned railways of the colonial era. Many steam locomotives were supplied by various communist countries in the 1950s,including the Soviet Union,Czechoslovakia,Hungary,Poland,Romania,and China.
The Donghae Bukbu Line was a railway line of the Chosen Government Railway (Sentetsu) in Korea connecting Anbyeon with Yangyang.
