Travis Jeffrey Dean (born 1 February 1992) is an Australian cricketer who plays first-class cricket for Victoria. [1]
Dean came to attention playing premier cricket for Footscray-Edgewater,and was one of the competition's top batsmen in the 2014-15 season. [2] Following these performances,Dean was selected to make his first-class debut for Victoria at age 23 on 28 October 2015,in a day-and-night Sheffield Shield match. [3] In the match he made two unbeaten centuries opening the batting,with scores of 154 not out and 109 not out, [4] making him the first player to score centuries in both innings on debut in the Sheffield Shield competition,and the second Australian player after Arthur Morris to do so on first-class debut. [5]
In his second first-class match Dean reached 347 first-class runs before being dismissed,beating the world record set by Border's Ray Watson-Smith,who got to 310 career runs in 1969-70 before being dismissed in his third match. [6]
Dean scored a century in the 2015/16 Shield final, [7] finishing his debut Shield season with 807 runs at 44.83. [8] He made his List A debut for Cricket Australia XI against the Pakistanis during their tour of Australia on 10 January 2017. [9] He made his Twenty20 debut for Melbourne Stars in the 2018–19 Big Bash League season on 21 December 2018. [10]

The 2015–16 Sheffield Shield season was the 114th season of the Sheffield Shield,the domestic first-class cricket competition in Australia. The season began after the conclusion of the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup,and included a break halfway through to allow for the Big Bash League. Trials for day/night Tests with a pink ball continued,having been introduced during the previous season. All of the matches for rounds one and seven of the tournament were played as day/night games. Victoria won their second consecutive title,defeating South Australia by 7 wickets in the final at Gliderol Stadium. Travis Head was named player of the series for his 721 runs and 9 wickets during the season. Ben Dunk of Tasmania was the leading run-scorer,while Joe Mennie from South Australia took the most wickets.

Seb Gotch plays Premier Cricket for the Melbourne Cricket Club where he has scored 5 centuries and 18 half centuries in the men's premier firsts.
