The ICC Champions Trophy is a One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament organised by the International Cricket Council or ICC. Inaugurated in 1998,The ICC conceived the idea of the Champions Trophy –a short cricket tournament to raise funds for the development of the game in non-test playing countries. It remains as one of those ICC events that had the same format as that of another big cricketing event,like the Cricket World Cup,with the format being One Day Internationals.

Jerome Everton Taylor is a Jamaican cricketer who has played as a fast bowler for the West Indies. Taylor eventually picked up 100 wickets for the Windies in both tests and odis. During 2017 he reversed an initial decision to retire from international cricket. Taylor has also featured for Jamaica,English sides Somerset,Leicestershire and Sussex,CPL teams St Lucia Zouks and Jamaica Tallawahs and IPL sides Pune Warriors and Mumbai Indians in his cricketing career. Taylor was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup. He is the only bowler to have ever taken a hat-trick in a Champions Trophy match,which he did in the 2006 tournament against Australia,and that was the first hat-trick taken by a West Indian bowler in the ODI format.

William Thomas Stuart Porterfield is an Irish former cricketer and a former captain of the Ireland cricket team. He played first-class cricket for Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. A left-handed batsman,he played for Ireland from 2006 to 2022,and has captained Ireland at all levels from Under-13 and is considered one of the greatest Irish cricketers of all time. During Afghanistan T20I series in March 2017,he passed 1,000 runs in T20Is and became the first player from Ireland to do so. The 1998 ICC KnockOut trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in Bangladesh. It was the first tournament apart from the World Cups to involve all Test-playing nations. New Zealand defeated Zimbabwe in a pre-quarter-final match to qualify for the main knockout stage. Future editions of this tournament are now known as the ICC Champions Trophy. Appearing in their only major tournament final,South Africa defeated the West Indies in the final to win the event. This tournament was inaugurated on the basis of FIFA Confederations Cup where the best teams from their respected confederations compete against each other but in this case the top teams in the ICC ODI Championship compete with each other.

Shadab Khan is a Pakistani international cricketer who plays for the Pakistan national cricket team. He captains Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL),and Northern in domestic cricket. An all-rounder,Khan is Pakistan's most successful T20I bowler. He is also regarded as one of the best fielders in Pakistan. As of 2022,he has been among the players centrally contracted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Khan was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani international cricketer who is the current captain of the Pakistan national cricket team in the T20I format. He captains the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. Under his leadership,Lahore Qalandars won their first PSL title in the 2022 season and again went on to win the 2023 season,becoming the first team in PSL history to successfully defend their title. He is the first Pakistani to win the Garfield Sobers trophy.
