True Story with Hamish & Andy is an Australian television series starring radio and television hosts Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, that was first aired on 5 June 2017. [1] This is their third series for the Nine Network. [2] [3] [4]
In July 2017, the Nine Network renewed the series for a second season. [5] [6] Season 2 began airing on 7 August 2018. [7]
The series was repeated in blocks of 2 episodes from 8 February 2022, following broadcasts of The Hundred with Andy Lee .
The series saw Hamish & Andy sit down with everyday Australians who recount hilarious true stories that happened to them, with the events in the stories being recreated by Australian actors in filmed in comedic dramatisations. [8]

In February 2020, it was announced that the series will be adapted for American audiences by US network NBC; it is hosted by actors Ed Helms and Randall Park, and the series is executive produced by Tim Bartley, Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, Ryan Shelton, Helms, Mike Falbo and Nicolle Yaron, who will also serve as showrunner, and it is produced by Warner Horizon in association with Pacific Electric Picture Co. and Universal Television Alternative Studio. [30] [31] In May 2021, it was announced that the series would be moving to Peacock. [32] In December 2021, it was announced that the series would be titled True Story with Ed and Randall and premiered on January 20, 2022. [33]
The first season was released on DVD on August 30, 2017. [34] Some copies were scented with the duo’s “Andy by Hamish” fragrance. [35] A selection of viral videos made to promote the series were included as extras on the release. The second season was not released on DVD, but has occasionally appeared on the Nine Network’s catch-up service 9Now.
In June 2022, both seasons appeared on local streaming service Stan alongside the duo’s next series, Hamish and Andy's “Perfect” Holiday .
The Farmer Wants a Wife is an Australian reality television series based on the British reality show Farmer Wants a Wife. The first eight seasons, hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski, aired on the Nine Network between 2007 and 2012, with a ninth season, hosted by Sam McClymont broadcast in 2016. A tenth season aired on the Seven Network when the series was revived for the second time in 2020.
Hamish & Andy's Gap Year is a Logie Award–winning comedy series following Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, a pair of Australian comedians, on their trips to various international locations. The first season saw the boys visiting America for ten episodes and broadcast their show weekly from New York City. In its second season in 2012, the show was titled Hamish & Andy's Euro Gap Year, and seven episodes were broadcast from The Lord Stanley, a disused pub in East London, England. The third season, known as Hamish and Andy's Gap Year Asia in 2013, was broadcast from a bar in Bangkok, Thailand, called The Raintree. The fourth season was known as Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year South America.
Married at First Sight is an Australian reality television adaptation of the Danish series Gift ved første blik. First Dates is an Australian reality dating television show. The format is based on a British program of the same name. The first four seasons previously aired on Seven Network and were narrated by Sam Mac. The fifth season aired on Network 10 and was narrated by Tommy Little. The sixth season is set to return to Seven in 2024.
Seven Year Switch is an Australian reality-television series based on the 2015–2018 American series of the same name. The series aired on the Seven Network, starting on 15 March 2016. The show features four married couples whose relationships are in turmoil. The married people are matched with a person from one of the other couples and are to live together for 14 days, during which time there are no rules. The fourth season of Australian Survivor is a television series based on the international reality game show franchise Survivor. The eighth season of The Voice began airing on 19 May 2019. Dubbed as the "All Stars" season, this season features a number of artists who had previously appeared on previous seasons of the show, as well as from The X Factor Australia and Australia's Got Talent. The coaching line-up consisted of returning coaches Delta Goodrem, Boy George, and Kelly Rowland, and new addition Guy Sebastian, replacing Joe Jonas.
Australia's Got Talent is an Australian reality television show, based on the original UK series, to find new talent. Seven Network announced that the show would be returning to their network in 2019 for its ninth season. It had previously aired on Seven for six seasons from 2007 to 2012, and on the Nine Network for two seasons in 2013 and 2016. It had an all new judging panel of Nicole Scherzinger, Shane Jacobson, Manu Feildel & Lucy Durack, and Ricki-Lee Coulter as series host. The season premiered on 28 July 2019.
