After emerging in the wave of Argentine New Rock bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Babasonicos became one of the banner groups of the "sonic" underground rock movement in Argentina in the late 1990s.

Natalia "Nathy" Peluso is an Argentine, Spanish, and Italian singer and songwriter. Born in Argentina and raised in Spain, Peluso became interested in the performing arts at an early age, performing cover songs at musical bars in her teenage years. After graduating King Juan Carlos University, Peluso relocated to Barcelona to pursue a professional career in music, with her first releases Esmeralda (2017) and La Sandunguera (2018) being confected independently. Peluso slowly started to become recognized in Spain. After signing to Sony Music, she started working on her breakthrough album Calambre (2020) for which she won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2021. Her second studio album, Grasa, was released in 2024.

This is the first full-length album that Trueno released after announcing his retirement from freestyle battles. The album features the collaborations of artists such as Alemán, Wos and Nicki Nicole. The album also features XOVOX, Oniria, Evlay and Bizarrap productions although the album was produced entirely by Taiu and Tatool.

The 25th Annual Premios Gardel ceremony were held on May 16, 2023, at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, for the second consecutive year. It recognized the best recordings, compositions and artists of the eligibility year, from January 1 to December 31, 2022, as determined by the members of the Argentine Chamber of Phonograms and Videograms Producers. The nominees for the different categories were announced on April 11 of the same year. The ceremony was presented by Iván de Pineda, who hosted the 2019 ceremony; and broadcast live through the Star+ platform. Rapper Trueno received the most nominations with nine, followed by singer Dante Spinetta with seven and the band Babasónicos with six.
The 26th Annual Premios Gardel honored the best recordings, compositions, and artists from 1 January to 31 December 2023, as chosen by the members of Argentine Chamber of Phonograms and Videograms Producers, on 28 May 2024. In its 3rd year at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, the ceremony was broadcast on Star+ and Star Channel, and was hosted by Iván de Pineda for the third time. The event was co-hosted by Evelyn Botto, Nacho Elizalde and Cris Vanadía. The nominations were announced on 30 April 2024; Milo J received the most nominations with fifteen, followed by Emilia with twelve.
