Massillon is a city in western Stark County, Ohio, United States, along the Tuscarawas River. The population was 32,146 at the 2020 census. Massillon is a principal city of the Canton–Massillon metropolitan area, which includes all of Stark and Carroll counties and had a population of 401,574 in 2020.

Central began educating in 1946 when the Diocese merged the all-female Mount Marie Academy and the co-ed St. John High School. This school is located in Perry Township, Stark County, Ohio and serves the west side of Canton, Ohio, and Western Stark County, including the City of Massillon, Ohio. Central Catholic's sports teams are nicknamed the "Crusaders".

The Tri-Village School District started with the 1972–73 school year. Prior to the consolidation between New Madison and Westmont to form Tri-Village, Westmont had been a consolidation between Hollansburg and Palestine. Due to community support for the school, it was renovated and expanded. The school is housed all on one campus. The school announced in 2015 that it will add football as a school sport.
