Tyler Bjorn (born 13 March 1970 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian former yacht racer who competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics, sailing as crew for helmsman Richard Clarke in the two-man Star keelboat class. In recent years, he has spent his time coaching sailing prospects. [1]
Sailing/Yachting is an Olympic sport starting from the Games of the 1st Olympiad. With the exception of 1904 and the canceled 1916 Summer Olympics, sailing has always been included on the Olympic schedule. The Sailing program of 1980 consisted of a total of six sailing classes (disciplines). For each class seven races were scheduled from 19 to 29 July 1980 of the coast of Tallinn, in that time an illegally annexed part of the USSR at the Baltic Sea. He won a gold medal in 1956, finishing 20th and sixth in 1960 and 1968, respectively; he was the helmsman in 1960. In 1975 he won a world title in the same event sailing with his sons Björn and Johan.
Peder Lunde Jr. is a retired Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1960, 1968, 1972 and 1976 Olympics. In 1960 he won a gold medal in the Flying Dutchman class, together with Bjørn Bergvall. Eight years later he earned a silver medal in the Star class, together with Per Olav Wiken. He placed sixth in the same event in 1972, and 16th in 1976 in the three-person keelboat. In 1981-82, he was a crewmember on the yacht Berge Viking in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.
Bjørn Bergvall is a retired Norwegian sailor, born in Oslo. He won a gold medal in the Flying Dutchman class at the 1960 Olympics, together with Peder Lunde Jr. He placed fourth at the 1962 Flying Dutchman World Championship.
