Rogers Arena is an indoor sports arena located at 800 Griffiths Way in the downtown area of Vancouver, British Columbia. Opened in 1995, the arena was known as General Motors Place from its opening until July 6, 2010, when General Motors Canada ended its naming rights sponsorship and a new agreement for those rights was reached with Rogers Communications. Rogers Arena was built to replace Pacific Coliseum as Vancouver's primary indoor sports facility and in part due to the National Basketball Association's 1995 expansion into Canada, when Vancouver and Toronto were given expansion teams.

A middleweight bout between David Branch and Andrew Sanchez was scheduled for the event. However, it was reported that Branch was forced to pull from the event due to injury and was replaced by Marvin Vettori. [5] In turn, it was reported that Sanchez was forced to pull from the event due to an eye infection, resulting the cancellation of the bout. [6] In turn, the pairing was left intact and has been rescheduled a month later at UFC Fight Night: Jędrzejczyk vs. Waterson. [7]

David Branch is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2007, he has also formerly competed for the World Series of Fighting, Bellator, Shark Fights, and Titan FC. A two-weight world champion, Branch is the former WSOF Middleweight Champion and WSOF Light Heavyweight Champion.

Andrew Sanchez is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the UFC's Middleweight division. A professional competitor since 2012, he has formerly competed for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance.

Marvin Vettori is an Italian mixed martial artist. He is a former Venator Fighting Championship welterweight champion and he is currently signed to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he competes in the Middleweight division.

A welterweight bout between Michel Pereira and Sergey Khadozhko was scheduled for the event. However, it was reported that Khadozhko was removed from the card due to alleged visa issues. [8] He was replaced by promotional newcomer Tristan Connelly. [9] At the weigh-ins, Pereira weighed in at 172 pounds, 1 pound over the welterweight non-title fight limit of 171. He was fined 20% of his purse and his bout with Connelly proceeded at a catchweight. [10]
